so hypothetically

If i was to have one of those fancy dual bulb ballasts and i ran a metal halide bulb on the high pressure sodium setting for about 24 hours. would this have any adverse effects on the bulb/ballast

well the light still works fine, i was just wonderin if it could cause damage to the bulb or the ballast.... and/or if anyone knows wut voltage/current the different type bulbs take??
