I been using the fox farm lineup of nutes since my first grow...i feel as if i can be using something that produces better results...

I've never used anything else...period. with my big bang grow coming to an end I'm looking to try out something new for next time around. i will be growing white berry from paradise seeds...also possibly doing another big bang grow (cuz i have 4 left overs from this last time).

My setup is basic at the moment...600w digital hps system, fox farm ocean forest soil, 5 gallon buckets, fox farm trio of nutes and thats pretty much it.

I also use molasses.

What other types of nutes are:
A) available in liquid form
b) a step up from the fox farm nutes
C) safe (nothing harmful please).

basically something that will increase yield & quality of the buds.

looking for opinions. thank you.

He didn't say if he wanted to go organic or not but I was a loyal FF line up grower for 3 years, and I was getting a Dank 4-7.5 oz per plant. I just went organic this season and I choose to start with Roots Organics. Well after one grow I tossed that out and went with Humboldt Naturals and I am very pleased.

For soil growing, there's not really much better than what you have now. It's all in the patience. I don't have a lot of patience for soil grows myself. I keep wanting to be more involved with my grow which is pretty much water and wait. I'm switching to bubbleponics after this grow. I'm now using the same stuff you use. There's different, but nothing significantly better that I've read about.

This dude named Roseman has totally sold me on bubbleponics...three times the size that soil can get and three times the yield...that's hard to argue with. http://www.stealthhydroponics.com/ These people have a starter kit that has everything you need to grow 6 plants, except maybe lights, for under 200 dollars that I'll probably get. I think it's cheaper than what I could build.

Good luck on your grow.

personally i think organic is the better way to go...with the ff lineup i flush usually 2 weeks before harvest...but at this point im just looking for better results...

i cant seem to do better than 2 oz per plant...i was hoping to bump that up to 3 oz or so...

the big bang plants im doing now were not topped or fimmed...i plan on doing FIM & topping for my next grow (the white berry). im well aware using those types of techniques will increase yield as well (something i never done as of yet...im only going on my 3rd grow ever). i went with fox farm originally because it seemed like the easy/beginner way of adding nutes to my grow...i've seen that there are literally hundreds of types of nutes for marijuana plants...i even had a magazine to look through...so many options it made my head spin...

its hard to judge what is crap v. what is a quality product. at least for someone still on the n00bish side of growing. glad i started though...its saving me $ by not buying...now im just trying to get the most out of my pg&e bill in yield. i predict with the 6 big bang plants i have that i should net at least 8-9 oz dry...was hoping for something like 12oz off of 6 plants...too big of a goal for soil?

recently i got turned onto molasses just by reading the forums...i only started using molasses after my flush a few weeks ago...so it may not make too much of a difference on the final product this time but i do intend on using it next time around...shouldn't molasses be used 1 tsp/gallon of water every week or every other week after the seedling or clone is 2-3 weeks old? not sure how that feeding schedule should go...

never tried foliar feeding either...anyone have an idea as a good product to mix with water for foliar feedings? how often can they be done? when?

When I first started to grow I was dropped into it, helping a friend who was a quad. He was having his past help use Gro Pro or something? Anyways I read the book by Jorge Cervantes "The indoor/outdoor medical marijuana Bible" and switched to FF line up. It did not take long for me to get from 1 oz to 5+ oz per plant.
The way I achieve this is by Fiming at 6-8 inches high, then 2 weeks later fim all tops again, then 2 weeks later a last fim. Also a long healthy veg is required (2 months at least). Once a week I foilar fed with Extreme Serene, and also once a week I would rain on the plants (mist well to clean the leafs).
FF is a great line up, stick with it and try the fim and get a nice big 15+ tops bush before going 12/12.
Oh molasses I use 2 tbls per gallon as soon as buds start till harvest.

+rep.

thanks. i see your point...i would have done this on the last grow (or the one im still on...its harvest time now) if i would have sold myself on the fim earlier...it was already in flower by then...

are you suggesting a FIM is better than topping? to skip the topping and just fim? or both?

thanks for the input...its been really helpful.
