soap??? wetting agent????

Ive heard of using soap as a wetting agent does this mean it doesn't bead up on the leaves during foliar feeding im confused can sombody clear this up for me please

no... it makes water wetter... breaks the surface tension of the water or something along those lines; thus making the water absorb into soil better... used occasionally for really dry dirt... ever notice how water will pool on the dirt rather than absorbing in sometimes?? soap will help that...
