Soil feels warm

Made a batch of very simple potting soil. Organic peat based potting mix and organic high quality worm castings and added 10% water to it and let it sit for 5 days now.

Just opened the lid and it feels roasting! Much warmer than the ambient room.

I guess this is a good thing right?

It's a very good thing. Let it finish, before planting in it though. Lol

Maybe plant some tiny seeds let them sprout then kill them they will suck up some of the top layer and when you kill them they will rot slowly soo later in grow they will become available

Oops bit late, just transplanted the seedlings. I usually only do it for 2 days but went for a little longer this time. Let’s see if it performs better!

How long would you leave it for? It’s not a very complex soil

It should be ok! Just light mix and worm
Castings so it’s not a ‘hot’ mix. Just impressed by the warmth coming off it!
