Soil

This is my 1st attempt at growing. When doing my research I read about all types of soils that could be used for growing so I decided to mix my own.
Here's what I used;
2 cuy worm casting
8 quarts perlite
8 quarts vermiculite
and Sphagnum peat moss ( didn't really measure just added till soil was light)
What I have noticed is that my soil ph stays at 6.8 to 7 my girls seem to like it.
Please let me know your thoughts on this mix

My opinion is it is not good. Perlite lets water drain, vermiculite holds water. Self defeating to do it that way. Peat moss also retains moisture and nutrients. You will just have to grow them out and see how it goes. Your grow is the final judge regardless of peoples opinions like mine:bigjoint:

One of the reason behind adding both was they both do exactly what you said. I water them exactly the same amount each time and with having the perlite to let water drain and the vermiculite catching water I can water my plants without the worry of overwatering as long as I continue to water/feed with consistency. One thing is the peat moss helps buffer your ph and keep it 7 to 6.5 allowing nutes to work

The leaves curling up at the edges is a sign of overwatering, keep an eye on that.
Ya I think it's from the fan on floor had it set on high by mistake I hope it didn't damage it from being that close. I use my moisture meter b4 ever watering to be sure I'm dried out enough I hope it's reading correctly I'll make sure to keep eye on it though Thx

your soil is going to be off ......when it comes to trans and flowering u will need to over feed (more then what regularly would give) it to fix the trouble

what u have is N rich with a few trace elements and what u been feeding /water them .......this is great for veggie a plant but when it comes to flowering it makes a monster bitch on your hands (u feed as it stills has access to all that N it wants more PK as u give it more the stretch will come up and then u will need to add more cal mg for stalk str because the buds will end up bending the branches from the amount of NPK access to in flowering and bulk building)

Explain why you think this is N rich when very little has been added can it produce its own N?. I guess we will know soon as they are getting close to the pre flower stage and growing great

Phosphorous in organic substances Phosphorous can be found in a wide range of organic materials, starting from animal manure to some more specific Phosphorous sources like pulverized bones, rock phosphate, or guano. Each of these has its own concentration of Phosphorous, and you can mix various materials in your organic growing medium.  Bone meal – 10-20%;  Guano – 5-10%
 Worm castings – 1-3%;  Fish meal – 1-10%;  Rock Phosphate – 1-2%. Phosphorous can also be found in other organic substances, but these are the most common that have higher concentrations. Worm casting contain phosphorus not N

Nitrogen in organic substances Nitrogen can be found in various organic materials, and they are mainly some sort of manure. The most common Nitrogen rich sources are:  Poultry water (Fish Meal) – 5-10%;  Animal blood (Blood Meal) – 10-15%;  Bat droppings (Bat Guano) – 2-10%;  Seabird droppings (Seabird Guano) - 10-15%;  Coffee grounds – 1-3%. Nothing about worm castings. I didn't at any type of nutes to soil when mixing

based off what u said
Here's what I used;
2 cuy worm casting
8 quarts perlite
8 quarts vermiculite
and Sphagnum peat moss ( didn't really measure just added till soil was light)

i called how the soil would work.........u did not up the P or K in the soil so during flowering u will need to heavy feed them to do the best .....other wise looking at some fluffy buds

auto flowers are a feed water based plant they are not like photos .......there is no time to mess up to do the best they can u need to be on point always or the plant suffers (denseness and over all weight is low)

THX and yes I'm doing everything possible not to mess up by listening to what my girls are telling me. I watered/fed them an organic tea this morning next nute feeding is next watering. Also giving molasses every other watering I will do my best and learn from this grow CHERERS

u are about to go into stretch and pre flowering

i would change over to a mix of 75% grow 25% bloom (day 33 i would) .........once a week hit it with a feeding of open seame from fox farms (the powdered stuff is a power house .....start with what the side saids if it handles it well increase it ) it will help off set the PK u need .......with your high N good chance the stretch is going to be bigger then what i had so u might need to think about training or SCROG if your area is limited (if u are working with something 6 7 feet u can move the light up u should be good)

with the powder in the mix make sure u keep a high organic feed other then the powders (they can add salt to the soil killing the micros but the organic feed helps keep them alive .....they keep the soil in balance and helps with uptake of goodies to the plant)

if it handles the powders well u can use it every other feeding .........just make sure u are using the organic bloom to off set (if need be can use liquid squid/fish plants love it and keeps micros happy )

3 parts
open seame........last week of grow fiirst week of flowering
beastie bloom........2nd week of flowering and 3rd week
cha ching ..............4th week.........can be used up to 5 days before harvest (auto plants faster rate of use )....just water for the last 3 feedings to the plant before cut day your smoke will be clean/smooth

ok got those. Been also giving them a molasses banana tea since week 2 and they really seem to like that and the potassium helps
