somas nycd

hello everyone i hope you all are well. i was hoping someone could help me out with some info. back in 2003-2004 i grew out some of somas NYCD. it was amazing. it was a short stocky plant with thick buds that turned a beautiful golden brown. the leaves were really dark almost black looking. and it stunk like diesel real bad. to this day it was the most potent cannabis i've ever smoked.
unfortunately i wasn't in a position to clone when i was growing at this time so it went the way of the dodo bird. a few years ago i wanted to try it again and after 4 different nycd's from four different seed distributors, i can't find that original one. these plants are tall and lanky, bright green, smell fruity with a hint of diesel and the high is borderline pathetic.
did anyone grow out nycd from soma in the early 2000's and knows what i'm referring to? if so do you know how to get a clone or seeds of that original strain? thanks for your time, i appreciate it.

I remember it well and agree it was an amazing plant. My uncle kept a cut up until 3 yrs ago. He used it in a few pollen chucks and made a few nice crosses.
All of the newer versions seem to have been watered down but I personally believe it's probably more to do with the fact that everything else has gotten so much better we like to misremember as roger said.

I have a NYCD clone that seems pretty similar to what you describe. Short, stocky, and covered with resin. If you look at soma's Afghan Delight picture on Attitude it looks very similar to that bud structure. My NYCD clone has no diesel smell to it, however it is the cheesiest smelling plant I have ever come across (even Cheese). Straight up Fettuccine Alfredo to the fullest extent. If you can make it to Colorado shoot me a PM

You didn't mention if 1 of the 4 breeders NYCD you tried was SOMAS? I would assume you started there but it wasn't clear.
