I was thinking about grabbing some of these at home depot since its close by and a bit cheaper by comparison to the hydro shop. The cheap part makes me wonder though if they are actually any good to use. Heres the list...

"organic" mix with kelp, green sand, chicken poop etc...

Lime- doesn't say dolomite lime but has all the same ingredients

Cocotek compressed coco blocks- I want to know if these need to be washed before use
http://shop.budstoblooms.com/CocoTek-Fine-Coir-Brick-Wrappe-GH3211.htm

I plan on using these as well as a:
60% mix of coco coir and peat moss
15% perlite
manure 20%

This is the same as you are looking for just make sure the organic mix is steralized and no holes in the bag or you will be bringing fungus gnats home to live!! The lime is dolomite. The coco block's need nothing done (not like rockwool 5.0Ph ect). Remember that your mix will hold salt's and will need flushing after a month....You can use Ph'd water or a mix water and FF sledgehammer, or?? Remember to check your final Ph on the soil and check how much PPM'S you will be using. good luck I hope I was able to help you! jack

I would use this instead of the coco tek bales http://www.hydrofarm.com/pb_detail.php?itemid=8083 It's a good product, and I use it. And it's OMRI so you know it won't have pesticide residues and it's about the same price or less.

Your mix sounds good, just make sure if you're using manure it's from a source you trust and properly composted. Personally I would use worm castings instead of manure, but if you trust the source..

I wouldn't buy anything "organic" from home depot unless it's OMRI. I get peat moss from there, but I only use 10% peat moss in my mix so it lasts forever. Don't buy any lime unless it says dolomite. It's not worth the chance.

And yes, this mix sounds good for indoors OR outdoors, just make sure you get a good myco product and some other amendments for the soil.
