Hey guys, i started flowering 5 days ago, pics of flowering room = 1 & 2. I just set up a veg room for the few seedlings i have now and for the clones im going to be taking tonight. The idea is that ill know which clones to kill once their mothers/fathers sex have been determined.

First of all, I have a 4 ft 2-tube 40w flourescent fixture (pic 3) to start the veg room off, how close should it be to the seedlings/clones? Also, for my flowering room, how high should my MH 400w be from the tips of the plants? Lastly, I'm starting to see the pre flowers but I can't distinguish males/females that well, being my first time. Let me know what you think (pic 4/5). Cheers.

yes please, these two questions:

First of all, I have a 4 ft 2-tube 40w flourescent fixture (pic 3) to start the veg room off, how close should it be to the seedlings/clones?

Also, for my flowering room, how high should my MH 400w be from the tips of the plants?

you guys already nailed the third question. thanks again.

Your 40 watters should be bewteen 2 to 4 inches from the tops of your seedlings or cuttings.

Your 400 watter should be 2.5 to 3 feet above the young plants, then gradually move the light down over a two week period to 18 inches from the tops of the plants.

And ... I agree, its too soon to tell the sex of your plants.

I agree + i like the way you took the clones without knowing the sex and just plan on throwing the male clones OUT.. this is a good technique that saves time!

cheers... nice pictures!
