Hey everyone. This is my first post :hump:
Anyway, I just found out next year I will be living with my good roommates in a house that has a designated smoke room. My current room mate and I smoke often, and like most smokers, we love to listen to music. I was just was wondering what sort of options there are on sound proofing a room that are cheap? I'm on a college student budget

I realize I won't get soundproofing equal to that of say, a sound studio, but I just want some sort of material to attempt to keep the music in the room and not have it reverberate throughout the house. 3 of my future room mates dont smoke, and I don't want to be an asshole and keep them up at night with my music.

I'm not sure how big the room is. I doubt very big. Anyone know of any real cheap materials, or have any creative ideas for soundproofing, like putting egg cartons all over the walls or haning up blankets etc.?

I appreciate the help

I to have problems with the sound in the room. What I have noticed though (this being common sense to some) is the its not the speakers you have a problem with, but it will be your sub woofer. I have no idea how to completely, eliminate this although standard wall insulation works pretty well and isn't very expensive... I have no idea how to eliminate the floor from shaking though :)
