Spider Mites Before Harvest...

I have two plants deep into flower right now (little over 6 weeks). The other day I started to notice yellowing and blotching on the bottom leaves of my plants, and thought nothing of it. I figured it was either a little nute burn, or natural dying of the bottom leaves as the plants reached final maturity.

Today, I noticed some webbing around where the branches meet the main stem. That gave me the initial sign, that I now have a spider mite problem. After seeing the indication, I then turned up the blotchy, yellowing leaves to find more webbing and actually was able to see some mites as well.

So I went to my local hydro shop, bought some recommended spray to use, and was also recommended to cut off any damaged or infected plant material, since I'm so close to harvest.

One of the plants was already about half infected, and the other seemed barely affected. I cut off about the bottom half of the bad plant's branches and leaves...and just a couple small bottom branches that were affected on the other. I then sprayed.

Now I still have a few questions. Firstly, there was a significant amount of bud on the affected branches I cut off. Can these still be dried and smoked? There's webbing on the branches and whatnot, but do the mites actually eat the buds as well? Also, will this plant still be able to finish in the next few weeks after cutting so much of it, or do you think it will die?

I strung my usual cardboard box up and hung the affected buds to dry in the meantime, but if the mites will remain inside of them, I prefer not to smoke bugs.

Thanks for any additional help you guys may have.

Edit : The spray I bought was basically 2% rosemary oil...can anyone confirm that this works as good, if not better than Neem Oil? The guy swore by it. The shit stinks pretty bad, and I didn't want to spray any of the buds, so it was hard to get a good amount on the girls. I'm afraid being so deep into flower, I'll get dicked with these mites either way.

clean buds off then use Doktor Doom on the infected plants that are still flowering. You can use Doktor Doom 1 day before harvest

Thanks Real, the guy at the hydro shop also recommended the fogger, and also said it was safe to use up until the day before harvest. I just got the spray first, even with a few trustworthy recommendations, a fogger so close to harvest just didn't sound like a good idea either way. If this doesn't work after a couple of days, I might just get the Doktor Doom.

So what about the bud that I cut off? There's small webbings along the branches but the buds visibly seem fine, even with my little 30x Loupe.

Edit : Also, forgot to mention the reason I haven't posted pictures, is because it's clearly a spider mite problem.

Just drip the cut bud in ice water to make them fall off, make sure it's very cold and make sure to remove the webbing first

I'm not putting down your idea by any means, and I fully appreciate any and all advice...but dipping my bud in water seems like self destruction to me. Wouldn't that basically ruin most, if not all, trichomes and THC glands on the buds? Even if it didn't, I'd think all the moisture would cause rot or mold...

Have you ever heard of water curing? plus water will not hurt the bud. Ppl spray their plants with water during flower with on problems. just use some paper towels and lightly squeeze the bud then air dry
