Spider mites on kush plant - should I harvest?

My vanilla kush is 7.5 weeks into flowering and I saw 1 or 2 spider mites crawling around on my buds a few minutes ago. I sampled a few buds at 6.5 weeks and it was so potent I could barely take a blunt to the head, and I'm a heavy smoker. So, being my first grow, should I chop her down and hope the spiders didn't lay eggs or wait until the suggested harvest date? (8-9 weeks) I'll REP+ any fellow growers who can help me out.

wait.. one or two mites is concern and you have to elimnate those now..
but given you have only a week left, continue your flush, and harvest in a week. when you do harvest, and hang, the mites will desend as the moisture leaves. whats your humidity in your grow? try lowering it.. i would suggest neam, but you to close to harvest. give that extra week, and youll be happy you did.
post some pics so we can see the seviority..

You can be assured that they laid eggs, book it. You need to get serious about it RIGHT NOW, or you're in for a world of trouble. Fair warning.

Try putting 2 green bamboo shoots in the pot so it touches the leaves, then put a fan on the plant. From what I was told the mites will go to the top of the shoot where you can use a wet paper towel to wipe them off. In the process of trying this out

There is a product called "Don't bug me" you should turn off the circulation fans and spray the hell out of the room. Don't spray the plants since you are sop close to harvest but spray the floor, celling, walls, outside of the buckets and everything else except the plants and the opening and surround of the exhaust fan. Has worked for me in the past and as long as there are just a few you might be good. Hopefully you just found some leaf scratches and not webs. If there are webs you need to start pulling nugs. I dont think that with a week left you even have a chance of predators working

if you are going to grow again, find out why you got spider mites in the first place, something is dirty either your room or your growing medium

Im with wiseguy on the no pest also. You might even put it behind your circulation fan to blow the stuff around

Thanks for the quick replies fellas. I grow outdoors so I pretty much have no control over anything, and since I live in Florida (and its spring) the bugs are showing up in huge numbers and crawling all over my kush. I just clipped a small branch and used my 420 scope. The trichomes are half cloudy & half clear so I'll see how it smokes tomorrow evening when the little nugs dry up. I gave you all a REP+ and I'm going to wait another week before I harvest. Thanks again friends.

i would seal the area off and turn your exhaust off, get a no pest strip, and they will all be dead in two days.
More bad info, I can't believe you said to use that late in flower. Stop giving harmful/bad info

What the flower?!?!?! Don't use no pest strips in flower! It contains Dichlovis which dissolves into the air and gets on your buds. Anyone ever read the back of the package? IT IS POISONOUS TO HUMANS!!!! They are ok to use in veg, but unless you want chemicals that are harmful on your buds don't use it. Ok to use in veg and a couple weeks into flower.

Btwthe state of ca says that they cause cancer, I really wanna smoke that

Harvesting early won't solve bug problems... Sounds like you want to cut now regardless, since you ae giving us a 6.5 week smoke report... ;)

I use no pest strips and have no bug or health issues. In fact, when I read your advice on getting rid of mites with bamboo shoots, I about lost my drink... Trust me, you have no room to call someone else's advice bad.... yours was hilarious... ;)

the state of California says EVERYTHING causes cancer....

flea collars contain the same thing get rid of your pets, I said 2 days, get over it
You're telling someone to put harmful chemicals on their buds (in a sense) Idk about you but I don't ingest my dogs flea collar. But I do medicate with my chemical free buds

I couldn't believe the bamboo thing either, especially since mites travel with air currents. But its worth a try. On a side note Mighty Wash is worth a try. Its just water that has a certain frequency in it. They say you can use it through flower and wont harm your buds since its just water

flush and harvest as fast as possible... spider mites are so fucking invasive. i hate them. neem oil works ok. but not on flowering plants. you dont wanna use anything on ur buds ur gonna smoke. after you harvest. take everything out of ur "area" and wash it, bleach ur area and use "malathion" http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/insect/05507.html after a few weeks it become inert and its safe on crops, like veggies, fruit, or buds, and it'll dan near kill any pests. good luck

he is growing outside.... if everyone pulled up their plants every time they saw a couple of bugs, we would never have decent bud grown outdoors....

If it were me, I'd get out there with my air compressor and blast em off.... just direct air under the leaves and get them moving good... I wouldn't bother with trying to bomb or anything this late in the game and using a hose to knock em off is kind of outta the question due to soaking the buds....

If however you are happy with the high and trichomes, get them in, just be careful about bringing mites into your dry area.... just because you cut the plant doesn't mean they'll leave...

when flowering iv used vacumums to suck em right off, did nothing to my buds, and i did it once a week till
the bud wouldn fit in the tube, then harvest like 2 weeks later. when you do chop, the mites, youll never smoke em. the mites travel up, if you tie knots on each end of the string your hanging on, theyll clump up there..iv done it.. its the eggs your gonna smoke, and even if it is harmless people arnt fond of mite egg weed lol. essp collectives, givin they send your shit to bud genuis.
(well ours does)

and does not matter if is MOSTLY water, you do not spray anything but pure water the final 2 weeks of flower. i promise youll taste something.

oh yea, and everything causes cancer, so true. do i even need to bring up ciggerette, lol
all advise here is reativly good. so bagging on someone else is pretty low.

Thanks for the help gang I really needed it because this is grow #1 for me like I said before. I just smoked a blunt of the sample nugs from yesterday and let me tell you, this Vanilla Kush is better than my best batches of Skywalker, Cinderella, Cataract Kush, Jack Herer, etc. Its a 70/30 indica dominant strain and my muscles feel like their melting off and my head feels like its being massaged. I might harvest today lol

I'd let it fill out. Harvesting early is not smart. It's a HUGE mistake. You vk strains sounds alot like my lavender and gods gift
Always bomb. From week 5 to finish. But I don't harvest a week in advance because of it.
I still wait. You'll get better smell quality. You'll get better mug quality and you'll get better bag quality.
Overall. Just better smoke. And you said u had amber trichs But 7 weeks flowing should be barly showing just a few auburn trichs. And I'm referring to indica dominate strains.
I harvest at 4 to 8 % auburn. Higher THC content. Lower CBN
If you wait which isn't hard. Youll be happy you did.
But it is your smoke and I'm only here for advise. You do how you feel you should.
Either way you have good smoke.
