spores in cali

It looks like it's pretty much impossible to grab spores in cali unless you know growers. Do I just need to find an out-of-state friend who could hold the spores for me? From what I've heard it sounds like they last a while.

edit: I know it's been brought up here a few times, but has anyone here actually used mail forwarding? I know people throw it out there when someone's sketched out about seeds, but I've looked on google (not a whole lot) but it doesn't seem all that viable of an option. If I got a P.O. box in, say, Nevada, where spores are legal, how long would I have to wait before they check your box? I can't exactly drive out there every weekend. Will a NV post office even give a CA resident a box?

edit again: does anyone know the proper method for inoculating jars using a spore print?
