get that houseplant out of their immediately. mites come from friends clones and houseplants, so.....
That's an Orchid - While they do get mites. They would go for his cannabis first.
Same rules apply. If the plant is healthy, it will not really "attract" the mites. Stressed plants will. I see no reason he can't keep his orchid with his cannabis!

Many people run partner plants with their cannabis. No biggie.

Yes, I have several veggies and herbs in mine.....but on someones first grow indoors I maintain stressing the risks involved when houseplants are brought into the tent garden. best to actually seed the companion plants as we all know if wishing to share the golden cannabis space with some hobby plants.
I get the urge, its natural, but it is just not worth the added risk. My tomatoes indoors bring different pests than marijuana ever did for example, and those were seeded indoors even. So now a grower would need to not only contend with their cannabis issues but also the new introduction of pests otherwise one wouldnt see for example. Easy peasy for the experienced but its asking for trouble with the new grower in mind.

I keep normal and hot peppers in the op during cold months (outside during summer). I keep citronella plants in there too. They keep bugs out pretty dern good! Not had a problem yet. Yeah, yeah, Been doing it a long time and I treat the outdoors before they come back in.

Mites are easy to find on Orchids. They attack the soft flowering shoots and new growth before anything else on the plant.......If they don't have them now (orchid too), your fine....
