I have 2 seedlings that I just started. They are about 2 inches tall in root riot plugs. I wanna try a hempy bucket grow. So do I need to start them in small cups 1st or just start them in the final pot? I will be using 2liter soda bottles. I will be using 100% perlite.

Start them in a cup first with your perlite. Give them a while to build up some roots, maybe use endomaxx spores to aid. Then, transplant once they have a few sets of leaves and some good roots.

2 liter soda bottles?? NO NO NO!!! Baaad boy!! (*JK*)

You need at least a 3 gallon planter per plant AND nothing transparent... the roots can not be exposed to light!!!!!

Plain old Party cups until they are as tall and wide as the cups- then into their 3+ gallon planter... just don't forget to cut drain holes around the bottom edge ;)

well I am trying a hempy bucket grow. The 2liter soda bottles are covered in black duct tape. so no light gets through.

Yeah, lots of guys do just fine with 2L soda bottles on the DTW subforum, specifically the world of hempy thread.

You should go over there for a better answer to this question from people who have experience with hempy. I think this question is answered a few times, in fact.

Moebius, the person who started the thread, has pictures of his awesome 2L setup right on the first page.

I say get them in the 2L as soon as you can, that way the roots can start stretching towards the passive res immediately.
