Thanks newguy, I heard the same (mounting cfls horizontal) so that's what I did, seems to be working like a charm, you can do the same with your fixtures, simply run a board down the middle length of your makeshift hood and mount your lights on each side of board.

Here is somewhat of an example of what I'm talking about,

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Very nice grow and setup. Just wondering, but I'm making a pc stealth grow, and planning on using CFL all the way through. How many lights and how much watts do I need?

Awesome .. looks good too, you did a good job, if you were to attach it to a piece of plywood painted white or put some kind of reflective material underneath and paint as much of the surroundings white as possible, this will also help tremendously...

The buds are looking nice, keep up the great work!

PS:

Harvest,

I would recommend at least 40w per small plant, the more light you ad the better the results are going to be, in flower I have 130 something watts over two semi large plants and the tops are doing ok but the two plants that are under more light are doing much better all around..

Very nice, and the new layout even better. Exactly what kind of temperatures do you think that enclosure would reach without ventelation?
I know you wouldnt want to find out the hard way, but am curious about the actual bulb temp. Im running (2) 600's and a 400 in my grow room (all HPS) and have thought of supplimenting with a couple arrays of cfl's. My room is 12x14 but combined targeted grow area of maybe 6x8. I want to use maybe 20 - 30 cfl in and around the HPS.

Again thats a bad ass setup. Creative minds partake :blsmoke:
