or you could just use it as a back up like i did. just incase for some reason the ph changes beyond the normal level it will adjust it back to normal. it will not be exact but will help keep it in the safe range. it would be best to make the exact adjustments manually. all it is to just make life a bit easier. it came in handy when i had to go to a funeral out of town
