STEM ROT NEED HELP OR ADVICE PLZ.

Kinda looks worse in the pictures , especially with the hole you can see.
I have never ever had this before so its a learning experience for me , least now I know what not to do and what to look out for. Prevention is better than cure and all that.

I get what you mean tho that if its stem rot then there's not much I can do except wait n see how it pans out.
Every other day I will treat with peroxide to try n keep this problem at bay and I will keep a close eye on things incase it starts again.

Even with the hole in the stem she's still managing to take up nutes and water , since yesterday she's drank about 5litres , she's still growing about the inch a day. She's been in flower about a week now so I do expect her to slow dwn in the next week or so.
Even with this problem she still looks in good health but with reading quite a few posts on stem rot i now realise that most plants with rot all look healthy until it eats through.

As you can see I've taken away the top inch of Coco from the pot to help keep the stem as dry as possible. Today the affected area was completely dry to the touch.
Lowering the humidity at nights by leaving the fans on when lights off will help a little.

Whats odd is that the plant grows completely normal without any signs of wilting or rot until weeks 4-7 all of the sudden the leaves wilt n it takes out ur plant in a matter of days.. spreads like crazy too. N my clones from the infected moms would get it too..

I took the stem rot plants n rw cubes, buried them in coco pots and it healed them back to 100% health. Only thing I tried that works..I sure miss hydro but coco can b just as good!!

its not sounding good for my lady to be honest, I have clones waiting to root so even if my girl dnt make it at least I have a backup.

Its so frustrating that one of these mornings I'm gona wake up to a wilted or snapped plant.

I would have thought that if u placed them deep in any medium whilst theres a rot problem that it would get worse.

and very typical see Jorge Cervantas on YT.. the Big Plants of northern California had the same issue

I too had this ..I washed the cracks with mild bleach and warm water and applied a mix of honey and neem

honey for the antiseptic ..and neem for bugs

I'm not convinced you have a problem. I've had many plants with stems looking like yours. The vascular tissue is in tact as evidenced by the healthy canopy. As far as plants and diseases are concerned its better to avoid getting it in the first place because diseases are nearly impossible to treat. The only way to tell for sure is a tissue sample sent to a lab for analysis and that gets pretty expensive.
You only have a month or so left in your grow. I'm betting you'll finish with no problems at all.
Keep your pruning tools clean and wash your hands after working with the problem plant as not to spread disease if in fact it is a disease. I'm not so sure it is but it is best to be cautious.

Hmmmm interesting,The marks do look very similar to mine don't they.
I suppose there is a chance its not rot after all, well fingers crossed anyway.

hey dannyboy thanx for the reply , I'm gona keep a very close eye on her anyway just to be on the safe side , and for my sanity lol. Its stressful at times wondering if its going to be ok.

She's only 1week into flower and has got 6-7wks left if its the quicker flowering pheno and 7-8 if its not so will keep you updated on how things go over the nxt few weeks.

Today I'm noticed the hole in the stem is closing over which is great news. The picture im about to post , if you compare it to the first pictures you will clearly see that the hole is smaller.
Was really worried that I was going to lose my lady but in seeing this today a weight has lifted of my shoulders.
I appreciate all the replies from everyone so thankyou again peeps.

Plant pathology is a hobby of mine. After harvest, cut the base of the stem lengthwise down the middle to expose the pith. Also scrape the thin outer layer of the bark off to check for black/dark brown circles. Post pictures of that and should be able to diagnose it no problem. Biologicals are available to prevent almost all types of root, crown and stem rots. But without close inspection of the leaves, I'd say it looks like Pythium Rot. Which normally isn't a problem because most of the time the plant repairs the wound, the problem comes from the wound letting in any other pathogens or pests that may be present.
