you could use existing heatsinks and drivers from the chinese panels to build the cobs/qb My chinese panels are in real nice cases, im deffo upcycling those at somepoint...
Yeah that's a good point dude. I'll have to get replacement lights up and working before I retire the chinese panels tho'. Once I get some tools in my hands it is unlikely to go well.......

Do try a screen StonerCol, I just did a modular Scrog myself, the intention was to have a few single plants in separate screens but due to how difficult it would of been in my veg tent I just Scrogged one of the 3 bulks and left the other 2 to do their thing (except for topping once) The Scrog was only 18" x 24" and I pulled 9.5 oz off dried and cured off 1 plant. So with your space, even with the lights you have right now you could pull some nice amounts. Get some quantums over em and you will be rich I tell you...RICH!!! Or at least have a fuck ton of buds! :weed:

Cheers man! I'm def gonna get a screen together....how hard can it be right? I reckon even I can put together a few bits of plastic and string :) Plus it won't cost more than pennies so that's a bonus!
9.5Oz from one plant...that's impressive mate, nice one! If I got half that off one plant atm I'd be well happy :D

You can knock one up out of almost anything.
I used some of this and some garden canes to strengthen it.

I was well chuffed with the weight, was hoping for 6oz, previous to Cobs my HPS grows I usually got 3.5 per plant. So this is by far a record for me. Technically with that square area I could fit 5 of them in half my flower tent and hit 2gpw. But unfortunately practicality says I cant with the perpetual system I have going on. Wish I had a few extra square feet I could expand in my Groom but I'm literally struggling as it is. :(

The other thing I need to do before flowering gets underway is to replace my filter. It's been in use for a year and it's an unbranded one so I don't feel confident it'll do a proper job with some stinky plants. I'm looking at a Rhino Pro or a Viper. I'm also thinking of putting an Ona block in the cavity of the wall that I vent out of. Are Ona blocks effective? Do peeps recommend Rhino Pro filters or is there an alternative?

Cheers for any advice chaps :)

What a result dude!! There's a Wilko store in my town that I buy lots of bits n pieces from so I'll be buying that. I'll get some canes also, as you suggest. Thanks man!
I know what you mean about wishing for a few extra square feet....

i use the mountain air filters these days, only had it in a for a couple months but theyre are meant to last like 2-3years...they are very solid indeed. also, cleaning the sock really helps prolong their life.

i use the ona in the end of the extraction....being away a lot i like to make sure...that and the reserve power supply for the fans incase of a power cut...not paranoid though.....nope

I looked at the Mountain Air but they seem to cost roughly 50% more than the Rhino Pro's.....I think I'll get a Rhino and Ona. Hopefully that should do the job!
That paranoia will help keep you safe man

Lovely pic on the bottom there @key4

I have always used Rhino pro, one of them I ran for 4 years without smell. I have just looked up these mountain air filters and noticed some negative comments about rhino which I was unaware of. Looks like the mountain air ones are longer so more surface area. It says unique airflow design but not sure what that means without seeing a cross section. I think I will give them a try next time I need one. 8" filters are expensive anyway so a bit extra isn't going to kill me.

check for light leaks/lights on plugs and things. multi sockets have a light on them quite often - you dont want any of that man. are your lights on at night?

Cheers for that dude, I was standing in my groom checking there were no light leaks when I noticed the red light surge protector on the multi socket....thought that isn't great....a bit of brown tape over it has that problem sorted :)
Lights are going out around 7pm and back on again around 8/9am so hopefully they'll flower away nicely.

I'm still concerned about lack of light for flowering and need/want a fairly easy solution. Any suggestions? I was thinking of DIY'ing a COB from the bits they have on Farnell. They seem to have all the chips. Is this an easy way to go over buying in a solution? With money being tight atm I need a cheapish solution! Any ideas welcome :)
I'll chuck some pics up later before lights out :D
