Cheers man! 2 of the plants do indeed have dodgy tips but the other 2 don't - that's the problem with doing 4 different strains I guess. I won't be doing that again! The trichs are developing and with my jewellers loupe I see a difference almost on a daily basis so things are much better than my previous auto grows, thankfully :) I'll do some better pics in a day or so at next feed. I'm hoping for 3-4 ounces of fairly frosty nugs and I think that'll be achieved but we shal see. I'll certainly end up with more quantity and better quality than I did before. Plus I've learned from my mistakes which is the main thing.

Gonna pimp the grow space in the next few days. I'm going to install some wire mesh at the top to hang lights from. Also the ledge around the space limits space to put pots so I'm gonna use some more mesh to create a shelf that covers the whole of the space instead of just around the edge as it is now. Also gonna buy either EB or TCI strips and build an extra light.
I'm also going to build a veg cab and put it in my bedroom for a perpetual grow. Things are developing in my hobby world :D
Still planning to switch to Coco in the near future, I just want to build up a bit of stock first :)

Thanks for your help and encouragement dude, much appreciated! (:

this is all that matters.

Sounds like a good plan man. The more time and effort that goes into growing, the bigger the reward for sure.

Maybe worth mastering soil first now that ya getting the hang of it anyways - handy thinng to know.

Grab a thermometer that tells ya 24hr high/lows at pot level if you havent got one. winter is coming.

That's what I'm thinking too man. Gonna do at least the next run with soil anyway and use Tria and P. Jack's Magic seems to be a good soil so I'll use that instead of the cheapo one I used this run.....

Yeah I do have one...couldn't grow without imo. I've got a giant CFL I use when it is cooler...it obvs adds temp and light whereas a heater only adds heat...seems like a good thing to me :)

I'm watching football atm...Paul Ince looks like O J Simpson of 20 years ago...it's freaky!

Hey @ttystikk you hear of these lights? They're made in The Netherlands but available in your part of the world.....

I have not heard of them. To be brutally honest, I believe that the lighting available through the small scale makers right here on RIU are better, more efficient and more cost effective.

Some of the best lighting in horticulture is being developed and sold right here on this forum. Have a look in the LED and other lighting section.

Agreed. I was more interested whether in general these lights have gained any kind of reputation out of curiousity rather than purchasing them. They seem to be available at a couple of places in your State and was thinking the places that stock them wouldn't do so if they were crap!

Yeah, Hanspanels are one of the better blurple units but rather unknown outside europe.
They use top bin Cree diodes and a massive 10mm+ thick alu-sheet with conical bored 100 and 120 ° reflectors for each LED. Completely passively cooled, the LEDs run with efficient ~700mA and deliver very good results.
Edit: the newer 180w units have small but quiet fans.

Handy for small grow spaces.
I've thought about them.
I prefer small lights and lots of them rather than a huge 4x4 fixture

Hydro stores aren't necessarily the smartest when it comes to cutting edge tech.

No, they certainly aren't. They just want to know if it'll make money! Be interesting to know if the Hanspanels are selling though....I'm just curious :)
I tried to get some of the local stores to offer HLG lights and even with a good markup in it for them, they wouldn't bite.

Just a quick text update....4 girls are day 37 of 12/12. and although not big are developing decent flowers with a good spreading of frost :) I'm thinking another 4-5 weeks but we'll see what happens. Nugs are thumbnail size and getting fatter :) They are recovering from the light stress I gave to two of them. They all have healthy new growth and leaves are horizontal and looking happy :)

Started to pimp the groom and have an idea to replace my noisy extraction fan with a DIY quiet extraction system using pc fans. I can use the tube from the current fan and make some kind of hood using polythene or similar......the issue is that the fan is very long and with the filter attached takes up 2ft just under roof height of 1.6 so it is a problem. A custom built one will reduce that by a foot which is good, considering the groom is only 4 ft long.....plus it will be more or less silent. The current one can be heard from outside the groom with the door shut..... :(
The CFM won't be a problem. The groom is 62 cubic feet and 1 Arctic PC fan will pull that, even taking a 15% filter drag....2 will kill it but I'll do a design at some point soon and post it.
I'm in no hurry as it isn't needed until current grow finishes in 4-5 weeks.....that should be enough time, even for me :D

That's it for now, thanks for looking in. I'll leave you with a vid that I found that is carzy.....just some fucking crazy guys out there....

Wats up mate, any pictures , updates? :D
I didn't bother with pics mate....wasn't a good harvest at all unfortunately. Buds just didn't swell.....trichs developed but buds were airy and not much in the way of terpenes. This after 9 weeks of flower so I've chopped and started again :)
I came to the conclusion that the lights aren't good enough for a decent flower. Veg is ok but flowering? Forget it.

I'm going to resolve the problem by building my own light from Samsung 1120mm strips, the FB24B version. 3 strips of 18,000 lm of 3000K each. Suspended from Ali frame. Thinking of a HLG-320H-C2800B Any thoughts mate?

Should give me enough with 3 strips!

Cheers for checking in dude. I'm sure the next one will be better.....just popped 3 beans so got 6-ish weeks to build my new light.... :)
