Storing Perfectly Cured Bud in Mason Jars-Still Smells outside

I have a problem and its starting to get to me, being the perfectionist slightly ocd person I am. I just finished curing my purple widow plant and have it stored in a few mason jars. The problem is, I can smell the bud through the mason jars. Their sitting in a drawer where its dark and cool. When I open the drawer each morning to grab a nug out of a jar, I can smell the Widow smell before I even open the jars, and their all brand new mason jars with the 2 piece rubber lid. Has anyone else had this problem? Are they not smellproof completely? I've had this similar problem with really dank/medical weed when I lived in cali and had my card. I just dotn want to be losing the potency of my crop as I have a few ounces and want to save it in these jars.

I'm no expert, and to be honest, i'm rather thick..... here's my theory.

by the sounds of it, you have good jars that shouldn't leak any smell. maybe the smell is on the outside of your jars? maybe from you touching them?

give 'em a thorough wipe down. see what happens.

If the smell is on the outside of the jar, then I would be HIGHLY surprised because it can be smelled if you sniff the seal and such. I wonder if mason jars naturally breath a little bit, or if my highly coveted stash of purple widow is in danger of losing potency/drying out?

Smells will leak out of mason jars. Best thing you can do is place them in a fridge/vacuum save them in the freezer.
