the first time i tried using cfls i construvcted a box with one 100w,two 42w,and four 26w bulbs. im not sure of the lumen amount but thats close to 300w of light and that is deffinately sufficient for a couple plants so i tried vegging six mexi sativas and they grew to about six to ten inches tall about eight to ten nodes each and then started having very droopy leaves they laid down completely flat. i saved those plants by putting them outside where they went into flower, two were males one was a herm and i have one confirmed female.after constructing the box and paying 18$ more on my electric bill last month i wasnt going to give up and germed about twenty PURKLE seeds which are mainly indica and so far the four i have in the growbox are loving life and having no droopy problems at all. are sativas just more gredy for light? if i added more light would they have perked up?

99.9% chance that the previous problems with the plants weren't related to the light..

Definately doesn't sound like it was a light problem, as you had plenty. You might want to look into what other things you aren't doing now that you were doing.

i watered them with well water which burned them for awhile ...i guess it had long term effects cause after flushing them and switching to black magic soil didnt help the drooping problem, i watered only when the pots were light and had great circulation.

is it more difficult to grow sativas indoors for more reasons than the height issue?

Yea, 248g off of one plant under cfls would be incredible. I would love to see that plant. It would have to be pretty tall. Even if it was like a scrogg grow, that would be unreal to get that much off of one plant under cfls.

I topped one of my purkle plants about a week and a half ago,and it has about ten bud sites now. the lowest node sprouted two branches the node above that did aswell, and below the topmost fan leaves directly below where i cut it there are two large thick branches, the top split too. my sativas deffinately didnt do anything like this...the sativa i tpped turned out to be male tho.:blsmoke:

Yes it is amazing how these things can grow two topps when you cut one off. I will most likely top all of my plants in the future grows. I like how it makes the plant bush out more.

i have one plant budding outdoors and it is just a bud on a stick. this purkle is so easier to grow indoors.:joint:
