Strange Idea (LED Strip's)

So basically i have started building a PC growbox to cultivate (hopefully) some northern lights, anyway i was trying to figure out where i could put the light fixtures as my home made carbon filter takes up a decent ammount of space.

As a pc gamer i have seen the rise of RGB well pretty much everything and loads of people are now putting LED strips into their pc's so my idea was to literally fill the top of the case with led strips.

So would this be viable at all?

The smarter side of me says no because it would not be powerful enough but im not well versed in the whole grow scene, im abit of a newbie.

Nice user name.
Yes but you want white LEDs that are efficient. Samsung 561c diodes are been used right now.
You should be able to do something to light up your PC tower which would be better than the traditional PC grow with a cfl in there.
Go have a look at the Quantum board thread and have a look through the LED thread.

I have 2x quantum board kits which are 2 boards each kit with each board consisting of 288 diodes with about 130W on each board. You can buy the diodes or strips and use a lot less for what you want.

No worries. I'm North Yorks. Plenty of good UK folks on here. I'm sure you'll meet them.
I hope to, i have a lot to learn.

I just found these, possibility of chaining a few of these together on the top of the case.

The site is called LEDKIA and they do a 30cm 5W LED rigid strip and you can choose the colour temperature so you could maybe have dual spectrum.

(i cant post links sorry)

Haha that's a mint name for a LED site. Too many LED for me to look through though.

See if you can find something like these on there. https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/samsung-semiconductor-inc/SPMWHT541MD5WAVMS2/1510-1017-1-ND/4766294
