Strip light harvest.

Time to harvest the girl I have flowering under the Samsung Acuity strip lights. I'm also doing an experiment regarding the dark period before harvest. So I took half the plant this morning at the end of her normal 12 hours of night, and the rest of the plant will remain in darkness for another 24 hours.

Here are some pics of the bud from this morning.

That's the tip of the largest cola.

That's the whole cola, about 10 inches in length

This nug had to be cut off because of mold. Hopefully the rest is ok. I think the heat spike a week ago might have triggered this.

Half the plant weighed 539 g wet - this is far and away the best plant harvest to date. If the other half weighs as much, this should be a half unit final yield.

Tomorrow I will post the pics and results of the other half of the plant.

Probably more..., HTGAG!

Nice lookin cola, mate!
I think the mold is caused by the cold nights with higher humidy.
If the condensation inside the buds can not evaporate over the day the cells walls gets weakened over time and since spores are everywhere and they love weakened cell walls and temps below 18°C it's only a matter of time untill you got mold.
The best things against mold is a low relative humidy (<60%) and temps above 18°C at night.

Hope you get an even better final weight as yesterday ...!

My temps were relatively stable at 79, and humidity is usually around 40%. Last week when I was trimming the other plant I bumped the knob on the thermostat setting for the space heater I have in there. I noticed two days later that the temps were up to 91. Caused a shitload of foxtails.

Wet weight of the other half is 618g. These are some heavy dense buds, much better than the last few harvests.

OK, so the second half is down and hanging. No sign of mold anywhere. Wet weight was 618g. Pretty sure I'm gonna see upwards of 8 ounces from this girl. I am really loving these strips. They build nice tight, very dense, largish buds. Here are some pics:

That's all of her, in her wet trimmed glory!

That's her main cola, roughly ten inches in length.

There she is, hanging to dry.

I have two separate 67 oz curing jars ready for her. Hope she fits! One jar is for the 12 hours of darkness and one for the 36 hours of darkness. We'll see if that really makes a difference or not.

Well, the early cut is down to 25% of its cut weight, so I trimmed it from the stems and into the curing jar it went. 106g of bud in the jar - and it barely fit! I may have to get another jar for the later cut.

May not look very big but that's a half gallon jar - 67 ounces.
