Hello all got a question !! I made the soil to spec and have it in garbage cans it's been around 7 weeks, earlier on I had some nice webbing going on up top layer but it went away and never came back is this still ok is the soil doing what it's suppose to?? Any help would be appreciated thanks

if the web goes away it means a violent explosion is coming any day now... haha just kidding bro. the visible web can come and go, sometimes it never shows at all. your all good.

What exactly is that white web shit? I see it in my soil cooking right now. I've Googled it and everyone is always just like "yeah don't worry about it"... Why not? What the fuck is it man?

Fungi grows thousands of single strands. I think there called hyphae (Could be wrong). The fungi will send these strands through-out the soil medium to collect nutrients from a distance. and transport those nutrients back down into the main body of the fungi. Then when the fungi is killed the nutrients it took up will be available to other life forms in the soil to eat. Like your plants. Because plants don't take the nutrients before the microbes do. They wait for the microbes to break it down most of the time. When plants came around on this earth microbes where already at work decomposing the soil so the plants are theoretically fed by these organisms.. Haha
