"Unlike refined white sugar, Sucanat contains iron, calcium, vitamin A, vitamin B6, potassium and chromium. So you will also be getting nutritional value when you smoke your herb. "

WTF? Vitamin can really be smoked? Should I be talking my multi vitamin by bong hits?

I use a brown sugar with molasses. It smells so good. I normally end up eating a chunk of it right out of the bag. Almost like cookie dough!
The plants dig it too.

I believe he was talking about the vitamins being absorbed by the plant, not that you reap the benefits of the vitamins by smoking them. I may be wrong but you never know.

This is an awesome thread. It answered a lot of questions I had. Thanks to the OP and everyone's input.

I'm planning on doing a soil grow next, with some cheap nutes 10-52-10 and sucanat. I might add some calmax or vitaboost, but I really want to keep it on the cheap, it is sort of the point. I like using Advanced, and they work well - but I get tired of paying for them:P

The myco beasties in your soil love the sucanat and there is nothing in there in any great concentrations to mess up the run the to final line.... you can flush or not....

The question about mollasses? Mollasses are pressed out of Sugar cane. Sucanat is a less refined version.....

The simple sugars/carbs that don't get used by the micro-beasties are easily drawn into the roots - giving mary a nice treat - she does not have to work for.
I wish I could find some research that shows this is possible. So far I see that carbohydrates or simple sugars can not pass through the membranes, not even by diffusion.

I always thought adding sugar to the medium was retarded, still do. However because Sub recommends it, I will consider it.

So let me ask you guys, I run Micro and Bloom in coco, flush last two weeks. No organics. I have some Earth Nectar and Earth Ambrosia, two products that contain micros, fulvic and humic acid. I am considering adding these two mixtures along with some sucanat or whatever sugar is convenient for 2-4 days between weeks 6-8.
What do you think?

The sugar requires Citric Acid as a Catalyst
This all has to do with manipulation of the krebs cycle as explained in Marijuana Botany
Understanding this process is pretty important to become a master cultivator IMO.
