I have a space, 1' 8" x 1' 8" x 4 ft.
i have a 150w Hps on the way. will this be enough to grow maybe 2 plants?

I think its about 70w per plant from what I've read so im guessing that will work...
really ive been reading like 2000 lumens per square foot and i have about 18 square feet, im assuming?. and the 150w hps fixture i got says 16000 lumens. i really want to be sure though.
the walls will be lined hopefully with mylar.

I have read that 2500 lumens for veg and 10,000 for flower per sq. ft. is good. If the floor of your grow space is 1' 8" X 1' 8", you have 1.78 sq. ft. Doing the math using these numbers, you need 7,000 lumens to veg and 27,800 to flower. I don't remember where I got those lumen figures, but it was in RIU somewhere. Hope this helps.

If u can vent the light with fan and glass int the shade u could do wats called a scrog grow an would allow you to keep your little light real close an with scrog its a pretty even grow get all ur lumens to plants this way, but i never scrogged my self. Best of luck

i don't know what a scrog grow is, and my budget just hit zero so i don't think i'll be investing in anything more for maybe several months. although, thank you for the suggestions, i will look scrog up.
