Hello folks! It's summer again and that means I get to grow some ganja. Gonna bring you along for the ride. I've always ended up with wonderful smoke each grow because of the knowledge I've got from here over the years and care. But enough with the appetizer let's get to the main course!

This year I'm running 5 nirvana Northern lights fems along with 5 bagseed beans.
I sprouted the bagseed about a week and a half before the NL was germinated And planted. Due to an inspection of my apt and a out of town event I had to leave the seedlings on the patio where they streeeeetched pretty good. I staked them up and got them back under the lights. I will bury the long stretchy stem when thru are transplanted. I topped the bagseed already. Hope it wasn't too early thru are just showing signs of growth again after 3rd day from top.

Bagseed is 3-4 weeks old. NL is about 2-3 weeks. I plan on prepping their outside spots next week and then moving them permanently outside the 3rd week of June. I have 4 25gal smart pots and will use whatever else I can find for the other 5 plants.

Questions.
1. In the southern US I'm hoping these ladies will get very large. Will they?

2.I got my bagseed from some very very good smoke I had at the time. Out of 10 oz of different strains I found these 5. Are the chances of them being female high?

Pics.

1. About a pound.

2. Odds of females is about 50/50, give or take a few. Stress, like light stress for example, can cause more males, or even hermies.

I grow out some bagseed now and again, and have got a keeper or two out of the bunch. But if you could label the seeds, even if it's just the date you bough the bag, it will make it easier to know what you have.

And you are safe to go outside anytime now, with regard to early flower. The sun will give you more growth than those lights.

Good luck.

Lol a pound a plant or total? And my brother is running a bagseed right now that looks and smells pretty amazing. I've always wanted to take a well known strain and breed it with a local bagseed. Might get to do that this year and run the new strain next year.

Moving them has to be planned pretty good as they are going an hour away from me.

Idk where to start.

I tied and twisted and pulled some shit down and around. Trying to get my lst going.

I made the hour long trip to my spot. My plan was to go today and mix up everything and take the girls out in a day or two. But the first problem I ran into is not being able to find all muy soil amendment's. By the time I decided to stop running around looking for them it was dark. So I'm out in the brush looking for 4 of my 30gal smart pots from 3 years ago. Lol things grew up so much and it was so dark i could only find two of them. Between hunting pots in the dark and hauling in all the soil and shit I was too tired to mix up anything. Especially knowing I had a hour drive ahead of me. So I will mix soil as I transplant. (Btw my old soil looked wonderful. I'm going to remix it with the new shit.)

Without further ado here are the ladies.
Not officially keeping count on days I don't wanna put a time frame on them. I just want them to do their thing. But the bagseed is about 3 weeks and nl @ 2 weeks.

Driving to put the ladies in their final homes outdoors. Got a hour long drive and then at least 2 hours of work to do.
1. Track through the brush to get to spot.
2. Mix soil and amendment's (still don't have amendment's).
3. Plant 10 plants.
4. Pick up 2oz of some smoke.
5. drive back home and finish up dinner.
6. Fell accomplished. Lol

Pics will be up after everything is planted.

Just got out the brush. Man that shit is a workout!! Here's the deal.

I found my other 2 smart pots. Got 4 fem NL in the smarts and 1 in a big ceramic pot. Put 3 reg seeds in lil 4-5 gal plastic pots and 1 in a vertical soil bag. I watered with water from a pond a few hundred feet from their resting place. Is the pond water gonna be ok to water?

I didn't get to bring in all the amendment's so the regs seeds are in a soil/perlite Mix. Hopefully they'll be fine.

Gonna try to move them out more into the sun as the weeks progress. 20170612_213049.jpg 20170612_213039.jpg

My bitches are doing good.
Not really gonna be any daily retorts since their a good ways away from me.

But I do have some very nice strains I'm smoking right now. Some alien og. Some snow bud. And some blue dream.
Found a seed in the dream yesterday and said fuck it and planted it.
Pics in this order.
Alien OG
Blue dream

Snow bud
Alien OG

The dream is ok I'm just not a sativa fan. The snow bud is very nice especiallyfor the price. And the OG is fucking insane. Can easily overdue it and be put down fast and hard. Btw all of these are outdoor grown. Beautiful stuff.

Almost forgot. I'm going to top the NLs as soon as they get adjusted well enough. Will look into how I top the regs again. I'm hoping my theory is right. That theory being if the seeds come from high quality bud that should never have a seed in the first place then the seed has a higher chance of being female

Where'd you come up with that theory? Just curious as to what the reasoning behind it is.
Lol crazy I know. But no seed from sensemilla grown crops have I seen been males so far. And I'm talking high high quality shit that should never have a seed in the first place. The reg seeds I planted this year came from batches of A++ quality indoor bud. I went through a pound of at least 9 strains and found 4 seeds. Although I did find that blue dream seed the other day

It might be too late for you to get insane yields outdoor since they really should have been started months ago, just something to keep in mind for the next go around.

Build yourself a mini greenhouse with chicken wire and visqueen and start your seedlings in solo cups outdoors underneath the visqueen greenhouse. It'll protect them from bugs and the elements as well as keep things nice and humid. Then once they start to get a little bigger and more established you can plant them in larger pots. I'd pop my seeds in March, have them in pots by April, and have them vegging for a good couple of months before they started flower.

My outdoor plants would yield at least a pound per in 10-15g pots, my 30g pots were pulling 2 and that was back when I was a complete amateur. Just make sure you pick the right strains, no sense in trying to grow finicky strains outdoors because with the amount of time that goes into an outdoor grow it just simply isn't worth it to go through all of that to be lucky to pull a 1/2lb from some designer strain. Go with hardy genetics that are designed to take abuse, afghani kush, blue dream, etc. Start them in March/April in the biggest pots you can and make sure they have all the food they need. With the right strain it is pretty much foolproof to pull a lb minimum per plant if in at least 10 gallons of soil.

Another thing to consider too is that with smart pots, if the pots are planted in a hole in the ground they WILL grow through the pots. I had two outdoor plots in my yard, and my septic tank was leaking near one of them. I had a 10g plant that was constantly exposed to the septic but since I didn't care much about it I left it alone. This plant (a finicky OG no less because I didn't know better) pulled close to 1.5lb, the roots had grown through the smart pot and into the ground. I yanked it by the handles with every bit of strength I could muster and it took a good couple of tries to pull this pot out, the roots had gone WAY deep into the ground.

And as for your theory, I believe there is actually truth to it. Top quality A++ indoor bud typically won't have seeds in it, but on some occasions these A++ buds get stressed just enough to slightly hermie out and as a result a small handful of these A++ buds have seeds in them.. but there was no male around. That means that the plant hermied to a slight degree and produced a handful of seeds throughout the buds on it's own with no male around. I could very well be wrong, but I believe this is actually how companies made feminized seeds (someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong here). If I'm not mistaken, to make a feminized seed you just have to take the clone you want to seed out and stress it so that it hermies out, the hermied clone will eventually pollinate itself and a majority of the seeds from the hermie will in fact be females.

I've rambled more than enough though, hope your grow goes well. Happy growing my man!

A few seeds found from indoor grown weed are the result of a hermie. In lots of cases, a female will pop one or two pollen sacks and make a few seeds. But if there is several strains in a room, you don't know which one was the daddy. Some oldtimers swear by hermie pollen. But they used it to make seeds in other females, not the hermie herself. My The Finger X Bug Topped strain is a hermie X female strain.

Seeded pot is just as strong as non seeded pot. There just won't be as much bud on a plant when it's seeded. It puts all it's effert into making seeds.

Lol I always miss the mark on the correct start of the season here. I'm usually caught up in something else then go "oh shit I need some seeds". But ill be happy with whatever I pull honestly.
