Hey I usually never crop during the flower but I think I should this time as I veged anit extra.

So like the title suggests, Anyone have any negative experiences with super cropping first week of flower. I read some other posts but just prefer first hand info if ya got it. Thx

Im. Only 5 days into flower right now and was planning on doing it tonight if at all.

Opinions..

Thanks

Noob here.

Having said that, you should be OK this early into flower, especially if your plants haven't completed their stretch yet.

Having said that I haven't done this myself, just my best guess.

I did it on an auto that grew too large. Must've been 2 weeks or so and I bent a few branches, after it recovered I did it to another branch by acc identically snapping it (not completely), by the time it was done it had recovered and was fine, was my biggest yielding plant. Good luck!

I do a combination of LST HST topping and FIM .. not so much in flowering BUT almost every plant I grow I like to snap a big branch in flowering in the fist two weeks maximum.

I don't recommend it to anyone because if you're not careful you will snap it right off for good. But doing so correctly turns them into branch monsters.. it's part of my strategy in achieving big yields. prepare to fix the break after with string and making a splint or wrapping it back.

They heal fast in hydroponics.

If you haven't already, do it. Just squeeze the stem hard to soften the branch where you want to bend it and while still squeezing work it back and forth a few times, then bend it until you get a snap. The top of the branch should end up lower than where you bent it. Support it with tape for a week or two if required. This assumes the branch is still green and not woody and your plant is healthy. Your plant respond well even in flower.

I have super cropped for years and have alwasy had great results. I just was always nervous to do it during flower. This run I let them veg a little too long and was working with soime stretchy strains. So thats why I posted here. Im alwasy looking for feedback and opinions so even if Im almost certain I will have no problems, I'll still ask lol.

thanks for the responses all

Good to hear. It's hard to tell sometimes whether someone is clueless or knowledgeable. I'm in the same situation. I tried to time the start of photo-periods to coincide with the expected start of flowering of some autos. The autos ran late. The photos in RDWC are monsters.

I think the only real way to know is to do a side by side with clones grown the exact same way exact same environment. That said I grow with a 5ft ceiling and actually super crop right at the end-ish of the stretch to control height and open the plant up. I love it because I also mainline so I wind up with 8 fat colas on the outside and all the lowers fill in the middle. Go for it man, you'll only learn and it won't hurt em.

Supercrop is pinch an bend right? Ive been doing it as needed, some plants get it almost every day in flower one one branch or another, sometimes the main branch over an over. Ive got a stupid low max height...

Buds seem fine as ever an no lack

I consider my plants as still vegging till day 12 of flower and even later sometimes. It is strain dependent but the majority of the strains you are fine to pinch bend prune and cut well into flower, what ever suits your needs.

I've guess ive always been over cautious with it. The only time I did do it late in flower was with the golden lemons strain which was a very sativa leaning pheno and stretched and kept stretching so I had to crop that down almost till the last week's and I always felt like it didn't really hurt her just slowed it down a bit and took extra week to ripen

I train heavy until I see solid bud sites. My very unstable "pocket rocket" loved supercropping 10 days into flowering. Only 2of5 hermied. Being an unstable at home made femized strain, it probably would've did that without training. Starting with a regular female I'd give her hell till I see buds. Day11in flowering and a week later
