For the pros out there would you suggest a swichable 400 watt system or will I do just fine with HPS with Hortilux bulb. My Rubbermaid grow closet is just 69"H 20"D 28"W??

You'll do fine with using the HPS for both vegging and flowering.

I use a RubberMaid storage shed too. Larger than yours, but I've been growng in it for six years now. You can line the walls with particle board, using screws to attach it. The lining aids in preventing light leaks ... and makes it more stealthy.

Vi I bet that lining also acts as a form of insulation not a high R value but it adds. Good idea.

To answer your question, the HPS will put out the most lumens, which is what the plant wants. Go with that all the way. But your area is 4 sqft, and that 400w will give you, ummm, let's see, been awhile since math, caught without a pencil...

oh yeah, 100 watts/sqft. Whoo Hoo!

That should grow some plants.

Haha. Pr made a joke. lol.

I use mh for growth but i dont see a big difference in growth happits between the two. I was using a hps for growth, well a conversion bulb atleast. I cant really tell any difference. The mh is supposed to be better for root and stem so I use it. But like everyone already said you can just use a hps the entire time. The only thing I dont like about the hps is it will make the plant stretch more than a mh light will.
