Switching grow light early flower?

currently using a 300 watt viparspectra LED. about to switch to flower in the next few days, I want to upgrade my LED light to a advanced platinum P300. Should I do it before flowering? or is it okay to switch the light early flowering.

or does it not matter at all when I switch it? the P300 would give me better results that's why I'm upgrading to that for flower

Swapping one LED to another of higher ppfd isn't going to cause you a problem, at least not in this case.
Personally I would swap them soon as I could, more light is more growth.

There's a very short window that opens up to allow a light change but you have to spot it quickly and react fast because if you miss it you won't reap the rewards for your entire crop. When I say short I mean short - It is less than 1% of your total life cycle! There's a lot of theoretical physics that has to do with it all but I won't bore you with it, instead I'll tell you signs of when to do it.

The first sign the window has opened is when the plant has grown up to 4 nodes. Second sign is that the plant is still alive, always a good idea to double check. The next sign is to check how many fingers your fan leaves have. Do they have 5 or more? Great now react fast, you only have about 7-10 weeks before you've missed your opportunity and the window closes. See how short it is, it's less than 1% of the average humans life cycle so keep a keen eye so you don't miss it.

TLDR; as long as they aren't seedlings you can change the light any time. Changing the light late in flowering however will not show much improvement in your yield and would likely just cost more to run, but no harm done at all and your next yield will show improvement.

The plant is 7 weeks in veg. Big plant in scrog. I want to switch to flower in the next few days

This complicates the issue. Have you ever heard of quantum mechanics? Your currently in what's known as a "quantum state." It's both ok to change lights and not ok to change lights. But the only way to find out which is to change the light. Don't worry though if it's not ok you'll know immediately because the string that holds the entire universe together will unravel causing the universe to absorb itself back into a singularity. This would inevitably force God to move backwards in time to before he created the multiverse - sort of like the ending of that movie "Mr. Nobody."

To be serious though you're fine, change the light.

right, but If I initiate flower now, I don't know if the stretch & flowering with my old light would make any difference vs waiting for the new powerful light.

Just switch it when you get it and veg another week under the new light so it can adjust to it and also so you can figure out the best distance with it before flower. I started with the p300 and had great veg results, I switched to cobs before flower so not sure how it does with that. I'd use both lights if it's a big scrog plant tho!

No problem. Only thing to watch is if going to a higher intensity light then its a good idea to have the light higher for a little while so the plant acclimatizers to it.

Yeah it’s higher intensity . Advanced platinum p300. Vs my old viperspectra. Both 300 watts though
