if you say so, was your first post on it i may have jumped the gun. oh well cant take that back but thatnks, can i ask how many times you ran AN? what set up and so forth. if you only ran it once and have bad results not very justifiable but if you have you used it 3-4 or more times and it never really worked out then i would take that into consideration everyone i hear from used it once and messed up. ya know maybe it wasnt the nutries fualt could just of been the user and how it was used/frequency.

i used AN one run.i hadnt grown in several years and was actually attracted to all the hype around the product. if you are pissing people off you are usally doing something right so i gave it a shot. i had 2 1000 watt hps and grew in promix. 7 gallon smartpots. 15 plants. i gave the entire lineup a try. the base was there 3 part mix. i was actually very impressed with the results. great yield and quality smoke. what i didnt like was all the mixing and the price tag. i started researching and learning less expensive grow methods and techniques. i found a thread on time released fertilizers. i gave it a shot and now i cant believe how easy it is for me to grow with similiar results to AN. i literally spend 5 bucks a plant on nutrients throughout the entire grow. i am currently trying a new product out on a few plants made by hydroponic research called veg and grow. so far i like it and its cheap and easy to use. time will tell as i just started using it a few weeks ago but so far me likes. we shall see. cheerio

i would never use a time release nutrient. i'd much rather have full control over my plants nutrients throughout the different stages of it's growth. as far as i know there isn't a single time release nutrient that can even come close to the efficiency you can get with a good 2 or 3 part system. i kind of feel that time release nutes are like 1 part nutes...training wheels. :bigjoint:

got any pictures of your plantsman? would love to see how your yields and bud quality are. would also like to see if these nutes can keep a plant healthy through harvest.

look at page 24. i posted 2 pics of a plant. one is a pic of one of the six monster colas from the same plant. typical yield is between 6 to 8 oz from eaach plant. typical vedge time is about 3 to 4 weeks depending on how things grow. uncle ben is now using a time released ferilizer. so are avocado growers all over the world. look at the agriculuture industry. lots of commercial growers are starting to use time released nutrients. millions have been spent on time released nutrient technology.. shoot if i really wanted to grow super cheap i would by 50 lb bags of time released fertilizers from florikan, harrels, or scotts. do a google search for "osmocote plus 420 magazine" and you will find almost 2 years of proven results using a time released fertilizer. i like the dynamite product best because it holds up better in a warmer room. i know its hard to give up control but geez its so easy to grow with this shit. i do add some organics to aid with flavor and nutrient uptake but not much..

Kinda confused pH perfect for hydro & soil are two different numbers hydro 5.8 soil 6.3 I have the hole AN line SENSI GROW A+B for veg Connosueuir base flwering but use tap water and it will put my pH at 6.3 with or with out all the additives I also grow hydro and I have to lower the pH of the tap water to 5.8 then add my pH perfect and it stays at 5.8 5.7 this is my first hydro DWC but have grown with bio biz and I like AN tried SENSI BLOOM A+B and that rocked but I prefer the Connossieur I only use the base at 2ml per litre not the 4 they recommend but run big bud full strength 2ml per liter bud candy 1 ml per litre rhino skin at 1ml per litre everything else at 2ml per litre and the plants love it

with ph perfect yyou dont need to adjust the ph because if you add them in the right sequence then it brings your ph to 5.7-5.8 automatically just stir and let it sit for like an hour or so.

quite wasting your money on hype. a few years ago i spent 800 dollars to grow 15 plants with advanceds line up. education has taught me well. thanks to people like uncle ben and others i have learned to grow at a fraction of the cost. lighting, environment, and plant bilogy serves more then any line up can offer. screw house of garden, advanced, and every other company that has convinced us growers we need to spend a fortune to get good results

heres a plant with 5 bucks worth of nutrients and 20 worth of soil and perlite

View attachment 2235372

and one of 6 colas from the same plant

View attachment 2235374

thank goodness there are respectable growers on this site trying to teach us how to grow without spending a fortune. think about this ? if pot were legal all of the sudden and a farmer could grow acres of it, do you think any of them would use a single product found in a grow shop? no they would be out of business before they even got started because the cost for nutrients would be rediculous.. think outside the box folks....

$800.00 dollars on fertilizer?? Maybe you should try another hobby? Your statement speaks volumes on the subject at hand. Garbage nutes in the right hands can give good results but using quality nutes allows everyone the chance, green thumb or not.

Have you seen the cost or priced out fertilizers for farmers? Your comments are a joke with no merritt.

Believe it or not it takes more skill to grow dank weed with cheaper nutes because you need to know what to look for and react quickly when something does happen.

Its too bad you do not research the topic yourself instead of listening to these idiots here that can't explain the difference between girls and boys...well they are all human!

I'm growing 18$ a plant using the Sensi and Hobby kit !!! and $1.50 a plant in coco. Could you explain the fraction part Professor?

All these ass-whipes comming on nute threads "Don't use that , use this" Fuck off. Do you stop people who drive Dodge Rams and tell them they own a piece of shit and you should get a Chevy? No because it's an individual preference.

I am growing with AN because I want to. My concentration is in the nutrients, not the medium.

There is a lot of truth in 711grower's post and he backed it up with two pictures of chunky plants. In all honesty, it's pretty clear that he's 'researched this topic' more than you have if you still think overpriced mineral salts in a bottle is somehow superior to the salts found in an affordable food like Jack's Classic or whatever.

Just out of curiosity, have you ever run a reef tank before? The same gimmicks in our hobby that have newbs convinced they need to spend a paycheck on plant food are used in the reef tank hobby. Many of the more educated aquarium guys preach the same message about salts being salts because it's true. As soon as a fish appears on a box of sodium bicarbonate, it's now 5 times more expensive than baking soda (you do know what baking soda is, right?).

thanks homebrewer for backing me up. yes i have researched shit tons. why do your think i am using 1.50 cents of dynamite fertilizer per plant to grow 6 to 8 oz plants. sweet ass dank. top shelf shit might i add. the other 3.50 comes from some organics that i mix in. yes i used 800 bucks worth of AN nutes. they worked just great. i used the entire line up. no complaints other then price. do you really think a commercial farmer is using 5 cents of fertilizer on one ear of corn ? or a commercial nursery using more then 10 cents a plant for ornamentals or whatever there growing. what i am saying is that you can achieve a whole lot without spending a fortune. i have also been a reefer for a long time to. there are so many similiarities between reef keeping and cannabis growing. i can make a years supply of calcium for about 5 bucks for a 200 gallon system from ice melt or you can spend a fortune on a calcium reactor with overpriced calcium. i love it when you try to offer something outside the box from whats available at a grow shop... think about it... the cannabis growing industry has so many mesmerized. its a plant. tend to its needs

Haven't been on the site since the hacking incident kinda freaked me out honestly...In any event I was using the COMPLETE House and Garden line up with Manna Mix and an inch of hydroton *for drainage* in a five gallon pot....honestly not very impressed with my results..followed the feed instructions to a T and only get about 2oz max *one plant one time had 4* per plant...I know there are a TON of extra variables, (light, air, watering, bugs if any, PH etc.) BUT if your going off strictly oz per plant and how much it is to run a whole garden (IN the state of RI"s case 12 plants) then it's not worth it..hence I went looking today for an AN thread and found this one. Been using AD PH perfect Sensi Grow A+B and I have to say I couldn't be happier with it...I've gone though at least 2 decent PH pens and went with a Blue Lab some time ago..but once I get rid of my soil mix plants (currently running on H&G coco coir) then I have no real use for it other than my cloner..PHing is PITA and I'm glad there's a formula out there that's designed specifically for our uses as horticulturists. Going to go with the Hobbyist Package in two more weeks but once that two weeks is up my question really is do I start following the Sensi Bloom A+B schedule as soon as 12/12 or wait the usual 6 days or so after you flip 12/12 Hope all of you have been well.

@420 Marine - I am currently running the Hobbyist pack and just like you ,in coco medium. Let me reach out to you and perhaps save you a little scratch. The AN PH line is indeed Perfect. Perfect growth, no problems. My issue is with the Hobby pack:

1) They provide Voodoo juice which dosage wise, is SO disproportionate to the rest of the pack items. The Voodoo is only required during the first 2 weeks of bloom yet it accounts for 60% of the pack cost !! Now I don't see an absolute need to enhance ones root system in a controlled environment, especially growing in coco. In my experience, an over zealous root system just results in me having to drill holes in it for proper water flow. If you must try it, get a small bottle.

2) Now doing some light research I found that Big Bud boasts amino acids as it's main reason to buy it. However, the aminos are already incorporated in the PH perfect base, except for the macro nutrients. PH Perfect base has humics, fulvics, amino's, a surfactant and essential micronutrients. You will read that Big Bud is the shit and a must have but these were grows without PH-Perfect.

3) The jury is still out on B-52 with me.

Overdrive on the other hand is nice. I have seen significant growth and bud engorgement with it. I used it on an auto just after I obtained the Growers Pack. It would take much convincing to get me away from it.

Like I say,the jury is still out on B-52 but I'm getting the feeling it isn't what it's hyped up to be. I'm coming to the conclusion that the PH base, with an economical booster that provides vitamins like GH Koolbloom @ 18$/qt; a silicon supplement like Dyna-gro's Pro-Tekt , Dutchmaster Silica, or Rhino (if you want to stay in the PH lineup)

In summary, if you ax Voodoo and Big Bud, you will save a bundle: The 1 liter kit runs $170 average. If you went out and just bought B-52 and Overdrive it would run $41 and $35 respectively , a $100 savings !! IMO Advanced Nutrients has come out with a fantastic, economical base nutrient 2 part. Darth Vader, CEO of marketing took over though and insisted on ripping everyone off with these kits. (Voodoo at 5 times the volume needed with a limited shelf life and Big Bud redundancy for example) .

well basically its bare concret on the bottom and it osmetimes floods so evething electrical wise is going to be up high as with the plants will be elevated atleast a 1ft if not 6-8 in i will get you a ooutline of basement and where i want room to give you a feel of the shape and all. give me 10 minuets.

sounds good. i'll draw up a plan for you that will help you map it out in your head. also helps to get things on paper so that you can foresee any possible issues you might have. let me know what equipment you're working with and how many plants/how tall you want to grow. that helps a lot too.

i'd just put in a plywood floor. frame something out with 2x2's and lay plywood on top. i don't know where you live but this sounds like a basement. if it get's cold then it might not be such a bad idea to lay down some of that fiber insulation under the plywood between the framing. cold concrete would be nice for the dark period right before harvest though. if you could have another area to put your plants for the 48-72 hour dark period before you chop then it would help in trichrome production. if you are in hydro it might not be an option.

well we have finally decided it is time to start finishing our basement, as of right now it is currently all unfinished just some stuff shittin around as storage, but the room i would be working with would be a 3ftdeepx7fxtwidex7ftTall its under the stairs so im am definatly going to insulate the whole room and i can always gett a small room for the dark period or use my tent. i guess main issue would still be space imo. being 3feet deep. from where i want the door to be though it would be 7ftdeepx3ftwidex7ftTall. was going to get my hands on a few packs of tgas, i do plan on topping and lsting just if they get to bushy it will be hard to water all of them in there. and with that space i would hopefully liek to get atleast 2-3plants a light since its a 400w, hopefully aircooled. and the main reason im rasing the floor is due to it might floor. we got new sumppumps and all but it might still happen where on the lowest point of the neighborhood. and no to hydro soil or coco for me for now. not into hydro atm.
