Tangerine Dream - Barney's Farm Smoke/Grow Report

Hmmm. I am growing TD now and am not having any of the problems that anyone is describing. I got 6 feminized seeds and 4 of them sprouted within 24 hours of germinating. All 4 of those are currently growing in my garden. From the sounds of it, I got 2 different pheno types. Both leaning towards the Indica side. 1 of them is taller than any other plant in my entire garden while the other 3 are almost a foot shorter.

Also, when I lollipopped them before putting them into flowering, I took clones from those branches and the TD cuttings are doing the absolute best. Almost every TD cut is now showing roots while I am still waiting to see roots from the other 60 clones of different strains.

All-in-all, I am completely blown away with the quality that Barney's Farm Tangerine Dream is producing in my garden. From seed to veg to flowering and circling back the process with clones. In every aspect, TD is leading the pack.

Thanks swaggersDlite! I gotta tell you though.... some of those super sativa looking buds were some of the best smoke I've ever had sativa wise. They woke me up, kept me up and kept things fun. They even tasted good oddly enough. The more indica pheno is the one I see people raving about since it's caked in larger crystals and is way more compact. I prefer the sativas though.

All that being said I don't plan on growing it again.... I'm diggin on the sativa chocolope and apollo13bx right now :)
Happy growin!

I've never grown anything from barneys but was out there when they won the cup and can say what they were selling was tastey as ****, bought some casey jones from dna though and that absolutely smashed it, would've picked that as a winner any day.

Mine grew big and strong, but germing was no walk in the park, 2 out of six, and those two took two weeks to crack trying different things.

Informative report, thank you. Is Barney's Farm more unstable than seeds from other Dutch producers? I've been growing (outdoors) BF seeds I've bought in Europe - like Vanilla Kush - and the phenotypes are all over the place. It's pot luck, so to speak.
Thanks!

I ordered 6 Barneys Tangerine Dream feminized seeds. All 6 popped. This is the weirdest plant I have ever grown. It is very tree like. My tallest is about 20' high! I came on here to see if others were also experienceing way longer than the stated 70 day harvest. Here it is late Oct and this plant still needs a few more weeks. On the bright side if the weather holds out this will be a massive producer.

Just something to throw out there for those who have had problems with germinating. Try raising your temps a few degrees. I was having some problems bumped the temps up to around 85 and kept it consistent for 24 hours and germinated with no problems. I also seemed to have better success popping out of the soil with temps around 80.

Awesome job OP! This report was really detailed and had lots of pictures.
I'm guessing Tangerine Dream does have lots of phenotypes, even when I was at the actual shop the some batches of the nugs looked different.
This isn't my favorite Barney's strain. I'd say it's more for a flavorful high then a potent one. My favorite Barney's strain is Laughing Buddha. For a citrus taste with a stronger high there is the Amnesia Lemon.
If you could possibly remember which plant grew from which seed in the 2-3 day timeline you mentioned a few posts up, it would be interesting to see if there was any relation between the germination time and what the plant turned into/potency/phenotype.

excellent review man!

really needed it.......thanks thanks
I call bullshit on the portion of the report where you are reporting on the phenos. Ok I get that there were a lot of different phenos. Shows instability in the gene pool not stabilized. However how the H### did you determine with each pheno what % of indica and sativa they were. Surprised no one else caught that. Are you a advanced botanist or chemist. Just saying.........

Overall good report.
