Tap root up or down?

Hey, quick stupid question:
Seeds are starting to show tap roots in wet paper towels, so I am getting ready to put them into soil. Do i place the tap root facing up (towards sky) or facing down (towards ground)? I would figure down but i think i read somewhere otherwise.

Thanks :weed:

That would explain why when I planted 8 seeds that had nice tap roots, I only got 4 sprouts... damn good info I hadn't seen before.

rep+ as well!

Shit, already +rep once tonight... won't let me again, lol!

You want the tap root pointing up because if it was pointed down the seed would waste valuable energy to flip itself over before it breaks dirt, and it would take much longer, if it ever sprouts.
