Test room: DE HPS vs. Citizen COBs

The plants still should grow 6" to 10" more. That will put almost the whole tray over 1000 ppf, which is the same ppf @ canopy with all his DE/SE HPS. The 950w fixture hits 1000 ppf @ 25-26". It is up as high as possible and right now is 26" from canopy.
The other half of the tray has the 2 fixtures @ 500w each. With them next to each other, I am seeing 1000 ppf @ 18-23". By the time everything is done growing up, I will be over 1500 ppf over almost the entire canopy.

Wow, 200,000lux..u got a serious setup here.. I switched out my 1000w hps last week that was about 20" away for 1 of my 8 cob panels at 36" or so away, and the plants had serious light stress.. Im down to 230w and the plants are much happier.. Ill be watching this forsure buddy.. Like seeing theae comparisons.
Cheers

Someone pointed out that my lux meter may be off, but I do know 200,000 (on my meter) is 970ppf, but I don't know how accurate it is against another lux meter.

I am happy to report that the led side might be pulling a head. The end that had the 4000k/70cri is almost as tall as the rest now but isn't as dense as the rest. The led side is sucking down the Mag, so he is going to foliar them and there seems to be less nitrogen left on the led side. The DE HPS side almost looks like to much nitrogen, but they are being feed by the same res.

Sure looks like the DE is leps and bounds ahead, and way more healthier. But i guess one has to be there to really know, right?

Definitely bigger. Both sides look healthy to me. HPS side looks leafier but just way more stacked. What's the watt ratio here led:hps

Think someone mentioned 1600watts cobs 2600watts DE. Dude is obviously running the Phillips green power bulb!!!!! That DE side is absolutely insane!!!!!!!!!

So an extra 1k watts. I think maybe 2k-2200 watts of cob run equivalent to these ones might keep up with those de, but definitely really show off what HPS can do these days. Killing it.

And look at the walls. The gardener could of got another 2 feet each way of plants on the DE side!!!!!!!

Hmm 2600w vs 1600w...interested to see which side produces better smoke. If the 2600w of hps doesnt outyield the 1600w of cobs i would be shocked.

We bumped up the wattage after seeing how bad the 4000k 70cri stunted 1/3 of the tray. I only get see it every 2 weeks or I would have seen it sooner. The height wasn't what I didn't like, it was the density and structure didn't look now where near the other end. So it's 1950w vs 1600w. That would still be one light less per 2 trays with leds.

Sorry, I can only make it up there every 2 weeks. I was told they are bleaching on the led side, so he should have foliar spray some CalMag. I am having the same thing on my soil side. The pic is not from his room, but mine. So update this weekendIMG_20170405_052404935.jpg
