That Brutal Texas Heat

It's not even summer time yet and the temps are already climbing in Texas. Really dreading the 100+ degrees we start hitting beginning spring and ending in December...haha. Anyone have any tips for keeping temps and humidity down, especially during the flower process. My grow space is currently in an uninsulated area and I'm working as fast as I can to insulate the area. I do have an AC in the room and was thinking about running some vent duct from the AC to the tent if I need to lower temps. Thanks in advance for any and all advice given. Keep growing,Growers love

The heat is one of the reason why I grow indoors from November to April.....its because of that. I used to grow outdoors, and the heat here in TX would kill the plant quick, really didn't have any shade to work with.

Running an AC would help you, especially one that's 5000btu's for a small room. Then you can use the un-ducts in you tent to pull air in, and the out-duct to keep air moving around

also you can keep a 20" box fan around the area helps too

I would keep working on insultation that shed, its gonna help a lot with the temps we have here. Especially during this time of year that's what I would be working on, getting that done. In the mean time, the one thing my room get is humidity, if you can get that ac to drop the humidty it would off set the temps in the room.

You do know you can make a diy a/c for inside that tent?

you put your lights on in the day time when temperatures are at there highest vs Night time when things cool down. I thought most growers would do this naturally especially since it's Off peak times.. But hey I guess if that works for you go for it:rolleyes:

Thanks man i really apprecitate the info..would really hate to lose and of my plants especially during flower
One alternative. High heat / High Co2 / High Rh.. Meaning 92 - 99 temps. R/h 70 a few co2 bottles and you will be fine.

I had a tent going before and my carbon filter went out on me/ it would not filter the air leaving my tent at 96 temps, but I raised my r/h and co2 and the plants went Apeshit.

during November through to April is actually our coldest part of the season in Texas, plus with the sun hitting the roof, its harder for the eye in the skies to search for us...

I've been growing for a while, I stopped when I met my current wife cause she had some dramas with the courts and didn't want to get into more trouble, so I stopped, after 6 yrs started noticing she wasn't walking very well and shook a lot, so I took her to the dr to get checked up and such. Well we found out she came down with MS, while we were in the hospital, she leaned over to me and ask me if I still knew how to grow MJ, I told her yes, its like riding a bike. She asked me if I could start growing again, cause we found out that cannabis helped her a lot. Welp here I am again growing like I used to....just finished my first plant a couple of days ago, letting it finish off till this weekend then i'll chop and start the drying/curing process. She's excited cause she knows it will help her, and we don't have to pay money for crappy stuff....lol
