It would very well work according to the Garden Knowm....

Ive talked to garden knowm and he said that he flowers at that young all the time and for my setup its perfect i'll try to link to the post....

https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/1805-giant-leaves.html

Read about half way down this post...

I waited 4 weeks to flower this is too long for this machine I believe, but i'm going forward with it anyway this time...

Its been almost 2 weeks into flowering and the center plant is defintiley female....

I'm going to trash the last two in the back because they arent getting enough light and I dont think they are female...

Highall the time, I believe that you are right. Next time I'm going to try to see if I can get the light closer than allowed in the begining...

Scrubbstarr, Its been working very well for me. I just noticed flowering a couple days ago, it was on the 9th day of flowering.

I used 4 tablets that it came with total, and then i bought the line of foxfarm nutrients....

Its pretty strong, I forget the exact lumens per bulb Ill have to check that
But the whole system is less than 60 watts...

The bulb socket I'm not sure if it is a standard socket for cfls or if it is specific to the machine.

If you didnt want to use their lighting system I dont see it being a big deal making that happen, I'm sure its very possible...

Shorty, you are wayyy too negitive for this website, I understand you may just be trying to help but you need to work on your delivery.... You seem like a prick, and we dont need no negitive nellys here, lol.

So if you dont have anything good to say shut your mouth and try to have an open mind.

I dont know why your so full of attack on all your posts, but whatever

Peace dudes

Hey,... you guys seem to be having trouble with the veg time calculation.:blsmoke:

In indoor growing, it's like one of those zen conundrums.

You have to understand the difference between seed plants and clones.
When we say veg for 2 weeks, we're talking about using clones -- Rooted cuttings are the same age as the mother they came from, so they are mature enough to flower immediately.

Seed plants should be allowed to mature before flowering, which is indicated by nodes switching from opposite to alternate, but indoor growers usually can't do this. It takes too long, and the plants get too big. You would have to use dramatic pruning to keep it a manageable size, and most new growers aren't up to that.

SO ... you end up flowering before the seed plant is fully mature and it takes longer to induce so it stretches for even longer and gets even taller and pretty soon it outgrows the entire building....

So the experienced grower would raise the seedling, and while she's growing up take a cutting and sex it to make sure she's a she, and then use the seed plant to provide cuttings to grow in the Aerogarden.

HTH

I understand that about clones, but still think that, the post by Gardenknowm.....

STretching is BAD.. always..

If I were you.. this is what I would do.. I would clone the two or three tallest plants.. and then i would wait 5 more days and flower all of them..

The 2 biggest plants.. especially the plant in the forground is ready to flower NOW...

I know that sounds obsurd.. but it is NOT.. your setup is perfect for early flowering and Horrible for late flowering..

Either way, when you decide to flower you should not have any plants that are taller than 4 inches.. yes .. I said it.. 4 inches..

iloveyou

still intrigued!!!
ok garden you sparked my interests. I was under the assumption that they should be around a foot when the flowering process begins. why 4"? seems a little premature to me (I a mstill a rookie though).
Well,,that is more of the old school thought.. More and more growers are flowerig newly rooted clones. The results are awesome.. and the same reults are true with healthy seedlings.. Usually, with 4-6 nodes a plant can be flowered with tremendous success.. soooooo many growers wait till their plants get 12-20 inches tall.. and then they can not provide enough light for the lower foliage...

Number of nodes is more important than height...

iloveyou

So according to this I believe it can be done

I believe The Gardenknowm, maybe he can clear this up again

Thaks for the advice

Peace

I've started flowering one of my clones at one inch... Knowm, if you're out there... how much yield, in good light and in soil could I expect from a one inch starter? Would it be the same as a seedling that has had 4 weeks veg?

Uhh, you have to buy his DVD. Then you get 15 pounds from a 4 inch plant, sooo the 1 inch plant would get one fourth of that.:blsmoke:

im basically a kid wit drug problems who has to make money selling drugs n it often leaves me in a very heated mood with alot of stress, im sorry if i offended anybody in any way, i didnt really have parents so i raised myself in the sense that no knowledge was ever passed to me from some1 else.... I think the aero garden is a great tool and if it is true that i can plant a seed and get weed in around 4 weeks then i will buy 1, please TEK except my apolgizes n help me to help myself and to help u in this new growing process , i consider us pioneers for aerogarden weed, n i see mass money to be made i have a few questions

from the day u plant a seed how long until u will have buds that can be picked from the plant?

how much buds will be yielded from 1 plant ?

(this is some advice) during the dark cycle inturrupt with a hour of light, that will encourage the plant to be a female.

Would u suggest only growing 1 plant at a time?

Can u explain in greater detail how the seed is planted and into what it is planted in

Finally it would be dope to no exactly how high the light reaches n how many weeks from putting the seed in the container it took for the plant to reach maximum capacity, if i knew that i could throw 1 seed in hopefully wait however long it took to get to max capacity then do a 12/12 light cycle with a hour of inturrupted light each night n hopefully get a fat ounce every few weeks

thanks

Hey man, I accept your apologies, lets see if I can answer your questions....

From the day you plant seeds to harvest I'm not positive yet, I'm on week 7 and my plants are all 6 weeks old and 2 weeks into flowering.... I waited till the plants were 4 weeks old to induce flowering, next time im going to try at 2 weeks, then I believe it would only take 2-3 months....

Well the buds yielded from one plant can be varied depending on so many factors(i'm hoping for 1 oz)

Hmmm growing one plant a time, this would only be beneficial if you have come up with a way to extend the light higher than it originally allows. Therefore allowing for a taller bigger plant = more bud?

I suggest at least 3 maybe 7. I mean some of the other hydro systems have the plants pretty close to each other and I think this is because early flowering....

There is a foam cylinder that is split halfway down like this

**|**
* | *
* *
* *
*****
just place the seed in the slit and the foam cylinder fits into a little holder(hopper) type plastic that then slides into the holes.

Exact height I cant be too sure of I'd say at full height at least 12 inches... It took about four weeks untill the lighting hood reached max.... Next time I want to see if i can start with the lighting hood right up on the sprouts...

If you waited till it was at max capacity untill flowering then how would you give it room to grow while it is flowering?

My suggestion, try to get the lighting hood right up on the sprouts for 2 weeks. Making sure your using good nutes, and then flower at 2 weeks...

This is what I'm gonna try next time

Hope this helps

Peace

my boy said a clone is where u just chop off the top half of a plant and stick it in some dirt and it grows, so in theory that I had.... could u let all ur plants in the aerogarden grow to max capacity with the light then chop them in half and continue to grow them to max capacity then flower and yield a shitload of tree?? of course if u chop a clone then u would need alluminum foil all around the plants so the lower brances would get that light..... i mthinking of buying the aero garden taking off the top splicing the cord puttin a timer on that and wrappin some aluminum foil around it and growing with a metal halide light, i bet i could get at least a pound on my first try..... the water system makes plants grow so fast and so beatiful i really wanna do this i will keep ery1 updated as soon as this aerogarden gets delivered

Yea 7 clones in the aerogarden would probobly be a very good idea, I'd like to try this method eventually

Look up how to take clones first... I can't be bothered to explain but the information is out there... I just don't want to see you chopping your plants in half... Topping is fine, especially if you've suffered some stretching, and the top piece is always good to clone... you need only clone the lower branches.

YOU, flowered at 1 inch? How come.. Just as an experiment?

Size does not matter as much as "number of nodes"....

post a picture.. I am curious to see this plant...

Yes... an experiment. The clone is just one head and we took it from the middle of our twin-branched plant. It just sprouted up and I decided to clone it. I'll clear my gallery tomorrow, and add new pic's as a lot has changed.

I like your thinking Knowm (obviously we should veg' long enough) on growing compact plants. Our next crop have been mostly topped, especially the ones that stretched (as we didn't tag our clones, we just cut them from anywhere!).

GREAT.. i look forward to the pictures...
The clone is rooted? You may want to wait until it sprouts 1 or 2 additional nodes. Ed Rosenthal has a book out... and he exams a garden full of flowering clones... i will try to find a picture and scan it into the computer.

cheers
and thanks for the update!!

Thanks Knowm... I've trawled the Internet looking for a site specifically dedicated to clones, but i couldn't find anything in-depth or even anything that could tell me something new.

1. Fish tank any size I believe I have a 10 or 15 gallon
2. plastic plates or the to-go food trays work good also
3. fish bubbler I use the dubble outlet 20-30 gallon $11 at Walmart
4. airstones I like the long blue ones not the bendable green ones, blue puts out more bubbles
5. I've compared a few brands clonex seems to work the best plus add a little to the water after cloning, helps a lot!

Just cut dip, Clonex is da shit, then stick through holes in plastic plate set in aquarium with bubblers 7-10 days. This pic is of day 10. I've tried small 2" and big 4", they both seem to work good. My last batch I split the base of the clones with a razor to get more exposure to the inside so there is more area for roots to develop. We will see in about 4 days how they are comparing to previous clones with no split. Also ideally you want to cover the sides of the aquarium with a black garbage bag duck taped at water level to block as much light to the water, this will cut back on algae growth and the roots seem to like the darkness. Hydrogen peroxide does wonders when it comes to cleaning any algae growth. I will post more pics soon.
