OK SO MAYbE IM SERIOUSLY WAY OVER MY HEAD WITH ALL THIS, but FUCK IT! bongsmilie

Weapons of LIFE

Dr120 TWIN 4X4X8
has two grow chambers on top of one another, top is vegging/clone chamber
bottom is obviously flowering

vegging i will be using (for now) (1) 100 watt veg cfl.

flowering i will be using (2) 357 magnum plus
(also note, i will be joining a friendly party cup competion with my 357 mag plus and maybe some kessils)

(1)4"vortex inline
(3) booster fans for proper ventaltion (key to my grow setup)
(2) oscilating fans

I will be flowering in one 10 gallon smart pot (notice i will not be using airpots no more)
growing with VITAL EARTH SOIL, along with vital earth grow suplements! ALL ORGANIC(i have high hopes for this company)

The strain i chose is Orange Bud from Dutch Passion. I chose her because i love her original smell and taste, brings me back to my child HOOD
she has been vegging for as long as these wack autoflowers i grew (ok Northernlights x big bud and smurberry3 where bomb, but eh i grew and smoked WAY BETTER) SO thats about 4 months from SEED.

I did lots of training on her and she grew out to be a monster (along with her sisters)

I decided to grow only one plant as oppose to three or four, with one i can concentrate much easier with less worries.

For this grow im aiming on perfecting flowering with these magnum plus with a proper organic feeding schedule.

also at the same time i will be cloning and vegging teens in the top section of my tent.

LETS GET THIS GOING HOMIES!

some training made her a monster!
IMG_0900.jpgIMG_0901.jpgIMG_0902.jpg
haha a skinny monster! ok so she was vegging with 4 other monster plants, so they didnt get proper lighting, thats why she so skinny, but i will be taking picture of her progress in gaining some weight!
IMG_0903.jpgIMG_0904.jpg
dont look directly in the light, trust me
IMG_0905.jpgIMG_0906.jpg
ventaltion is key i have a y spliter, one intake on the top of the leds, and one under, because i have a smaller flowering space, and our weather is geting hot as fuck! these two magnums will create heat.
IMG_0907.jpgIMG_0908.jpg
fresh outdoor filtered air blowing into the bottom of the tent
IMG_0909.jpg
veg chamber, i got some orange buds i just transplanted, i know, never transplant into see thru cups but thats all i had, i will update this veg real soon, look at them roots!!
IMG_0910.jpgIMG_0911.jpg
One of the best investments i ever made

Thanks homie,
u actually inspired me on DIY led, I have this amazing future plan that involves my RIU led and my magnum for a future battle with the two, if RIU wins, I think that will revolutionize the way we think on LEDs!
Maybe we can combine some how in the future?

"flowering i will be using (2) 357 magnum plus"... is that the purple lighting? I'm intrigued, for i've never seen these before

Correct, to the camera and our naked eye the LEDs do make a purple color, it's a combination between red and blues and whites that make that effect.
Im sure u will be seeing and hearing and even smoking LED grown herb more often:bigjoint:

IMG_0092.jpgIMG_0089.jpgIMG_0090.jpgIMG_0091.jpgSo here are my notes for both veg and flower. Since I posted up pics of my current flower, I will only post pics of my vegging, also keep in mind thru out this journal I will be updating my veg more often due to me able to tend my veg chamber more then I am my flower chamber, also vegging is a lot quicker so I will be doing continuous vegging and cloning with different plants.

Ok here's my notes
I will be doing direct soil ph testing and ec/ppm readings of my feed
i will not do runoff testing just yet.

Flower update
Monster orange budFirst feeding schedule day 7 of flower
1 tbs baseline
1 tbs worm casting
1tsp humus
1tsp kelp
1/2 tsp micro/catalyst
2tsp molasses
1/2 tbs bloom vital earth

ppm 130 or .3 ec
runoff ppm: unknown
Direct Soil ph 6.6-6.8
ph runoff: unknown

Veg update one
Transplanted them to 1 gallon plastic pots
With vital earth and mychroizzal and extra perlite for more water and air capacity

1gallon airated water with general organic grow (I haven't purchased vital earth veg yet)
1/2tsp@gallon
and 1/2 tsp of kelp
Same with foiler spray

Did bug inspection and saw beginning signs of spider mite on one plant, removed it and used mighty wash and neem bombed the tent, will keep close eye on this

Tempature in 80s super hot, I'm guessing this is the reason slider mites are crawling in here, what can I do to combat heat? I originally was going to veg 24 hrs but decided to give it some darkness due to heat,
What's better 24 hour light
20/4
18/6?
Any thoughts or suggestions???

Stay on top of those mites!! Would be a shame if they came back with a vengeance later in bloom. I prefer 18/6 veg cycle because I honestly haven't noticed that big of a difference with more hours of light...it supposedly increases the growth rate (some say the opposite) but I can't tell the difference in terms of the plant's growth. I do like using less energy though, always a fan of saving green and being green. Ways to combat the heat? Obviously the A/C, fans, opening the tent, C02 could help, suck the hot air out of the tent, chilled mister but watch humidity levels...ummm what else guys?

Yea def
when I first started growing years back I used to run into all sorts of bugs, especially spider mites! Haha but thru out time I better understand them and therefore I think like them! Haha never again will I have any kind of bug infestation, I will battle it with every organic means as I can and if it fails I will cut grow and start over, but not to fear it was a earlier stage of spidersmights gathering and only one plant with one Leaf had it, so I inspected each one and sprayed with mighty wash along with some light concentrated neem oil, then I bombed the veg chamber with high concentrate neem oil, I'm sure this will do the trick! But like u said I will stay on top of that!

Can't and won't run AC.
I can add more fans but from experience it doesn't do much other then blow hot air around.
I do open the tent as much as I possibly can, especially when lights on and lights off.
I once ran co2 in a tent and kinda failed, it leaked way too much, but what I notice on this tent is that it's more secure, almost as if it's ment to run co2? It only has one opening per chamber, as oppose to the other dr120 which had multiple openings

Ok so I'm going to my local hydro and invest in a co2 ppm meter and give co2 a try again, what y'all think? How should I run it properly? Has anyone ever had success running co2 in a tent?
And humidity levels are high enough so chillers are out of the question.
good points and suggestions puffenuff!

lets start with vegging
day 27 of roots popping out.
i took one plant outside so i can see how quick she grows in our hot california sun!
everyday i check for bugs (especially spidermights) and these plants are clean!
i check every indivual plant one by one, and i spray light neemoil on each one, then once that drys i spray mighty wash under the leaves,
this will be my last week of spraying any organic insecticide on these plants unless truly needed. i know that most bugs build up a immunity, but not too fear, i make sure everything is as clean as it can be.
i will be foiler feeding with a light kelp mix every other day.
now as for the heat, i decided to turn off lights during our hottest hours, this gives them some cooling time, but still, this veg chamber can get hot! it never peaked 85 degrees, but never went below 77 and thats with the everythin open!.

lets get on to the pictures,as u can see im bending these clones to get them to stay short, this chamber is only about 2 ft tall so these will be trained to the MAX!

FLOWER UPDATE

day 17 of 12/12

did bug screening and no signs of any bugs.
leaves are pointing to the light which is a good healthy sign.
flowering is really picking up! these orange buds are fast growers.
she stopped strecthing and is now in full bloom!
stem is getting beefy, it was probbley half the size of a bic now shes close to a size of a bic.
IMG_1001.jpg

i added some top dressing which consist of vital earth worm casting, vital earth baseline, and a couple pinches of california humus.

this recipe is at 5 gallons

4tsp vital earth liquid bloom 2-5-0
1tsp calmag
bumped ppm to 110 or .2 ec
planning on sticking onto a tea-feed-feed-RO-fungi feed schedule, what yall think?
i like to keep it low on my feed, i never try to over do it, especially with a new nutrient line.

plus its all in the soil:leaf:

heres the pics enjoy!
