separating mating plants in one grow space

got an idea - if you have a small male and female - say autoflowering - and want to breed them under the same light as all the females, why not take a large clear tall plastic tote or trash can that is see through and flip it upside down and cover both of them. Then, cut out strips on all four sides for gas exchange and cover them with double layer cheesecloth. careful not to open the box without misting the plants first but would it work?

I am no expert, but I would guess the pollen would still seap through the strips that gases go through. Pollen is kind of like spores, invisible to the eye, easily dispersed throughout whole room by fans. Just think, if hemp plants can pollinate ganja plants from more than a mile away, you would likely at least have a few sites pollinated, that would be my guess.

wouldnt it be just as easy to put the in a seperat single box and away from the females youll realise after all that working around other plants in the confined space would suck and wish you had anyway if you only have small plants and want a couple of seeds you would only need a couple cfl's really.

put the male and female in a seperate box and make some seeds. otherwise take the male away and pollinate branches there are many an option that may be far more viable and easy.

or take the male away and pollinate a few branches on a single plant perhaps.. possibly expect some rouge seeds though. males need little light to keep growing and produce pollend granted more lights better but not necissary for hobby breeding really.
