Wish you could come up here for a visit- I have something to show you.
I imagine I'll have some time soon.
Sooner the better?
Hey guys how can I utilize this plant that didnt pack much bud but is frosty as fuck?
For whatever reason the buds are so airy and sparse everything but the tops arent worth trimming
Needless to say this clone is getting trashed but how can I utilize all this frost without actually smoking or trimming it?
Its weird cause another strain packed lots of bud weight under the same light given same nutrients.
Shitty freebie seeds. I really need to jist find a good strain and whore it,out.
Tired of random seed runs thats I dont know what ill get and the weeks of wasted time.
I was thinking a pollen tumbler and rosin press. Not big into edibles.
I haven't run any kief yet myself . I gave away a tumbler that I thought I'd never use because I USED to be into bho but sold my tamisium when they made extraction with hydrocarbons a felony because of bhotards blowing shit up. I'd certainly recommend some lowtemp plates and the press of your choice.
I'd rather have a set of 710snob plates but a plates a plate I guess. The heaters are more easily replaced with the 710 plates but then they cost like 80 bux a heater. You can buy cartridge heaters for under 10 bux and wire them up yourself if you're handy.
So far I haven't had to replace a heater but when I do I won';t be paying 80 bux a heater, you just have to know which heater to buy for the plates you get.
Why not just get chunky metal plates, then soak them in hot water for awhile?
So u put straight buds into it?
Do you press it thru a screen at,all?
I used to just press straight bud not even ground but that was before I ordered the 130 micron mesh bags.
Now I'll grind the bud , put up to 1/2 ounce in one bag and then I slip another bag over the top of that since the tops of the bags are open.
So when I press it totally contains the shit you want contained.
That won't do, the plates are drilled for round ceramic heaters , they get pretty hot at the temperature you want to press at, you won't be touching the plate very long when brought to temperature. Yield isn't as good as blasting with butane but it beats a fucking felony.
Then there's this that's manufactured in Longmont Co.
Looks interesting but not 5 bills worth of interesting.
So the dude says..... "pics or it didn't happen". wtf
what's up db?
so how much rosin do you get roughly with a 1/2 zip of ground bud?
Hey buddy. It all depends on a lot of things , I really don't even weigh before and after , I just press and dab. I will say miss my BHO yields but I can live with the rosin yields and be confident there are no solvents left in it. I went with a 10 ton dake press because I was reading one guys take on it and he thinks 1000 to 2000 pounds squeeze is enough. I'm still playing with techniques by changing up temps and pressure but in the end I squeeze and dab without the worry of blowing shit up or getting a felony charge. That's all that matters. Nice starting material makes for a nice squeeze.
I more than likely will kief my stuff from now on. I've had a set of unused full mesh bubble bag for a couple years now.im considering making a tumbler but am still working on a nice working design. I'd buy pro made tumbler but they are really proud of those things.
i think doublejj does a dry ice deal in bubble bags and then presses that.
sounds like another side hobby i'm gonna get into. lol. been wanting a shop press anyway for the garage
If you've got the coin go with the 710snob plates and controller but if you're good with things you can actually build a controller for about 50 bux.
The plates and heaters are the real expense and the heaters will go out in time. Don't be suckered into buying the heaters from the place you get the plates though or you'll pay 10x what you would , a little research and maybe even part number saves you a lot of money. Those controllers are easy to build and very cheap.
I saw a cool homemade, tumbler on youtube. Does up to 5lbs at a time.
Dude said it DIY for like $1300. Seemed ridiculous. Said the motor was like $600.
Which sounded even,more,ridiculous.
Looked cool though.
