So, it all started about a month and a half ago, when a late night stoner saw the AeroGarden on tv. Of course, me in my inebriated state thought to myself that this would be the perfect thing to get a little hydro grow operation going.
Before I bought it, I did no research on the AG as a container for cannabis. I already knew the basics of hydro, but have never tried to grow before. The price and the all-in-one package made it really attractive to me, at least for a learning experiment. I've already decided that after this grow, it will be time to move onto bigger and better things (Such as Earls fence post setup) but perhaps I can always grow tomatoes or strawberries in the AG. Or I could always sell it on eGay. They have a surprising resale value.
But anyways, when I first set up the AG, I put 7 bag seeds in, but they were all carefully selected. My cat killed all but one. That one is the largest one that you see in the pictures below.
No worries though, I've got plenty more seeds to choose from. Over the years, I've ammassed quite a collection of some prime seeds. So I chose a nice little albino Afghani, a little sour diesel and some decent homegrown of unknown breed.
Here's what I've got after about 3 weeks (maybe 4, I forgot to keep track of the starting date) of the one that survived from my original 7. The Afghani and 3 of the homegrowns were planted a week ago and have sprouted.
I've been using the stock AG nutes, (in small doses) and have a question; are the nutes acidic or are they a base? or does it depend? The Ph of the water at my house is a 6.0 exactly according to some water well test done a few years back.
I'm trying to get all these going about the size of my big one before flowering phase. I've read through about 20 pages of the Aeroponics forum, and I must say for the most part, I'm very impressed with the wealth of information and willingness to help others here.
So without further ado... Pics! I figured I needed a new $600 lens to show off what my $150 AG can do, right? So I apologize in advance if these photos are too big. I was about an inch away in most of them.
BTW, I do plan to thin these out, as soon as I can determine sex. I was thinking about switching the ones that don't fit into a homemade system.
