They are building a Wendy's next to my work (I'm pumped) but the project has been delayed because they had to pull a body out of the foundation hole. So in this down time I asked the GC what they where building out of assuming it would be cinder...nope WOOD. I was blown away I figured they would use metal if anything opposed to cinder but the gc said in bulk for the amount they needed wood was cheaper...so maybe bulk prices are unaffected? Any actual contractors have any input on this? Are they just fucking over the diys?

It doesn't matter what they build it out of, Wendy's is garbage.

Sometimes when I'm really high I go in and order 6 Jnr Bacon Cheeseburgers, eat 4 when I get home and leave 2 to eat later cold...

I know, I'm a bad person inside.
Is rather go to a Hooters, at least there is something look at while you eat your shitty food.

Aka you have no fucking idea about bulk contractor purchases. When you get off your nutritional high horse you will see Wendy's "doesn't cut corners"
block isnt cheap... wood is way cheaper in the long run. even if the GC is getting a bulk price, whoever bought that franchise isnt paying bulk prices most likely lol. a cinderblock is roughly $1.50-$3.00 a pop depending where you get it. a stud is about $3 a pop. but with the blocks you also need rebar, concrete, mortar. everything is expensive.

also about wendy's not cutting corners... their hamburgers are square. they literally cut corners into them

See that's what I thought about the corners thing but if they where to cut them off and make them round..that would be cutting corners.... I had a lengthy discussion about this with a manager after he refused to fry up a new batch of fries without salt because I was just going to ask for salt after.. But I thought you don't cut corners? Then said your whole argument and he insisted the way burgers are extruded these days (a concept I harder thought of) that their way was not cutting the corners out where the other fast food joints are
. I rebutted that there are no corners in the other patties wtf are you talking about.. He said yeah they cut them out. I then realized not only was I arguing about this but also I was in check mate he saw it and said.. I get this argument all the time i have practice... I was a broken man

But thanks for shedding light on the wood cinder metal stud quandary that makes a lot of sence. I kinda realized this isn't even about wood more about something to bitch and blame trump for

While I've got you here... You pass material cost onto the customer correct?

Yeah. Most contractors mark up material. So if I pay 4 you're paying 6

Dave fucking Thomas doesn't cut fucking corners like hiring booger picking teenagers, and crackheads tweakers to work for poverty wages. Nope, nothing but the fucking best.
I love how you feel personally insulted over me calling out some shitty fast food, lol.

I thought even if you enjoyed it sometimes you'd still know it's shitty food.

Because it is, I just like it sometimes ;)

Don't they have square patties? Maybe that's what he meant by not cutting corners.
