The Irish Growers Thread!

Hey folks!

Long time lurker, first time poster, looking from some help from my fellow country people please? I'm a relative noob to growing but I've done 2 single plant closet grows. Decided to upgrade my equipment and I ordered my first grow kit recently, which included this exhaust fan.

Now, perhaps in my naivety, I thought the fan would be battery operated, wired to a plug, or just wired, but it's not. No cable, nothing, just the fan. The power instructions are for wiring it up in a bathroom using a light switch.

I haven't a notion on how to set this up. For my purposes, I want to connect it to a plug for a wall socket.

So my query to you, wise people of the Irish Growers Thread, can I take the wire and plug off an electrical device I'm no longer using, (ie, an old hair straightener) and wire that up to the fan? If not, what should I do? Bear in mind I know nothing these things, but I can change a plug. :) It runs 220-240 V, 50Hz, 16W.

Thanks for reading! Happy shmokin..... bongsmilie

You can wire it up. It runs mains. Only difference is that one wasn't supplied with a plug. If you do wish to play electrician. Make sure to read relevant info on wiring colors for your area. If you're not comfortable playing electrician. You could pay one to put a lead on it for you.

Thanks Nugachino. Yeah I'd be wary about hiring someone to do it, just coz you never know who you're dealing with.

It is clearly marked up for live and neutral so it seems easy enough to wire, would a standard 3 prong plug and 13amp fuse be OK do you think? I have a hair curler here that I no longer use, I could cut the wire off it and hook it up to the fan. Cheers man!

Should do. As long as the cord can handle the amperage. I'm no electrician. But, I've had to put a new plug on a few things in my time. Just don't get the wires in the wrong holes. And everything should be dandy.

Cheers lads! Haven't had a chance to hook it up yet, but watch this space! :)

The smell is really fruity sweet and none of that cannabis smell, most people (boring commoners) would not now what that smell is.
Taste is pure fruit with a lasting aftertaste.
High is fast oncoming racy and very sativa until after an hour starts to turn indica and gets very heavy.
NICE.....
