The Law

I was wondering with the tolerant laws in new york how do the others manage to even smoke. i heard of some pretty harsh laws. And ive read a book that had a picture and a caption saying that the DEA or some anti drug association spends millions trying to confiscate even wild growing marijuana (hemp, ditchweed) growing in states like kentucky. PLEASE POST YOUR LAWS AND RELATED EVENTS THAT TOOK PLACE NEAR U. VERY INTERESTING TO ALL OF US. In new york anything less than an ounce or 99 plants is no biggy any more you will get fined or possibly jail time.

The article you are referring to is the 239 million pounds the DEA confiscates, 219 million pounds annually is ditch weed, this is generally not cultivated, just completely wild according to the dea "with no evidence of human cultivation or intervention" So they arent finding peoples grows, they are finding naturally accuring weed, most of the time with no THC content at all according to the dea. Tax dollars at work, the funny thing about the war on drugs, they have done nothing but succeed in making people more self reliant, and to take pride in what they smoke.

I dont think you will have anything to worry about, where i live we have tons of ferral weed, it does nothing but make cattle sick and giving them soft hoods. So unless you mate with a goat weed is still fine to eat/smoke.....that asside back on track here. Dea is just finding fields of weed farmers ask them to tear out to keep there cattle safe.

Anyone know from first hand experience? We all know that law enforcement on paper is pretty far from how it actually goes down in reality. Anyone heard/know of anyone busted in Canada? I'm really interested to see what the people got who we're growing in the Molson breweryin Ontario. If you didn't hear about it, somehow people ended up transforming an X-molson brewery into a massive grow op with a legit coffee bean business as a front (for economic reasons as well as odor) Police ended up seizing around 30,000 plants that would have had a street value of around $30 mill. Obviously mob related.

No doubt that is a lot of plants but nothing compared to the canary islands crops. Lots of state laws are written in random order they are unreasonable and inconsistant to better themselves when catching us, right? They have no right judging our willingness to smoke it. They should atleast let us grow for personal consumption and we will promise to forbid our grow to others. this way everyone will be happy. The only problem i see is selling to minors still under development. if ur 15 u can buy if u want i say. or selling to challenged people. Ive smoked in VA and i will consider that the law is at a paranoia rate, shitty
PEACE

NORML is a great organization but the state law section is misleading...

in Georgia on the state level they will charge you with intent to distribute (felony - $10,000 bond) even if you had less than an oz. if you picked up a half oz in 2 qtr bags they'll get you for intent.

one plant is felony manufacturing ($100,000 bond).

people are regularly prosecuted here for amounts as small as 1 roach.

In CA, if you get a medical marijuana license, there's absolutely no penalty. And they are not that hard to get - just go to a doctor for back pain, then go to a medical marijuana clinic with your Dr.'s diagnosis. For $250, you'll be scott free for a year (have to renew every year). With the license, you can have 6 flowering plants and 12 non-flowering plants at a time. And if you are a primary care giver for someone else (another 100 bucks), you can have even more.

In CA, it's the way to go.

  • growing 4-25 plants: summary conviction or indictable offence (depending on what the Crown attorney decides) with maximum penalty of $25000 fine, 18 months, or both (if tried by summary conviction) and five years less a day (if tried on indictment);
