OK - that is why you have unusual structure. Train the tops to all be at the same height. This will allow the alternating nodes to act like true seedling nodes. I think there is a good explanation of using a clone to mainline in the first ten pages of this thread.

Well here is an update on my mainlined girl here she is on the 6th...P1020142.JPG And here she is today...P1020166.JPGInsane growth, I flipped to flower on the 8th. As you can see she could use more nutes, slowly working my way up there she will get a full feed next watering. She has a lot of lower shoots and I'm not sure how ill benefit from clipping those off so id like some pointers @Mohican from the pros. Here is another shot at the lowers.P1020169.JPG

I think its a cal/mag deficiency in my white widow. It is only on this strain and I have inspected for pests.
I see know evidence of thrips(I battled them last time).
I added cal/mag to the water for these two, ph is fine.
I have not grown white widow in a while while and I go easy on her with nutes.
I am using fox farms big bloom tiger bloom and I still add a little grow big for another week or so.
She went to 12/12 on May 28.

Thanks
Alta

Too much pk and not enough nitrogen built up is first burning the edges and tips then starting to lock out more. In my opinion.

I suggest running fresh water through to a clearer runoff than I suspect it has and then a lighter concentration than you are giving of the nutes but in a more balanced ratio. Like what they suggest for transition. She needs a balanced medium.

I only use a mild Grow formula all the way through. I just taper it off towards the end as they need less. Buds don't actually benefit from so much pk in soil. They only need to be fertilized to the needs they show. All of the directions on any nute line I try or see suggests more than double what I end up using. And usually not enough nitrogen for flowering.

If you plan on flushing don't use non pH'ed "plain" water. I would make a pH'ed lite nute mix and flush to desired runoff. It may take a number of gallons to do a complete flush.

There is no reason to ph water in a buffered soil grow unless the alkalinity of the source water is too high.

And almost never any reason to run gallons of water through to reduce the excess salts. Just enough to clear the yellow dark runoff a bit.

It is neccesary to know the alkalinity of your source water and how it works with your potting mix and nutes. It all should balance fine with no adjustments.

I have not adjusted my well water that shows 8.0 ph in years. Or had to "flush" my 3 gallon pots with more than a half or gallon of fresh water before pouring back a nute mixture. Also unadjusted.

I don't even always lower the concentration of the mix as it is the clogging of the roots with excess salts that causes the op's symptoms. Not the ever changing ph of the root zone.

The acidic ph is a direct result of the overly fertilized soil. When you get the plant uptaking again the ph will naturally rise.

You're correct, if he is running soil, I thought he was growing in 'coco.
Please excuse my mistake, I have been growing in coco so long I assumed everyone did, LOL

My soil is mostly FF ocean forest perlite and happy frog in my own ratio. I used distilled water. My ph is 6.4 I mix the fox farms in a gallon of h20 at a ratio of 15ml big bloom, 10ml tiger bloom and 5nl of grow big. I then give each plant 2cups of distilled h20 then 2cups of nutes then 6 to 8 cups of distilled h20. I do this every other week. The off week is distilled h20. This is only on my white widow which I have not grown in years but I remember her not being easy.

I don't know how to advise here. You are adding almost 3 times what I would wish Fox Farm and then washing it out with distilled water right after?

I would water less than half of that concentration to a good 20% runoff then water only when very dry. Then repeat. Or even less per watering and fertilize every time is my method anymore.

The funny thing is she is making some hefty looking flowers at the same time.

Maybe the bad times are already past and you will have to look at the new growth
to see how it fares. That sort of damage does not typically "heal" but if the new tips
stay healthy, then maybe the storm is past...

I must clarify, if I water once every five days with 8-10 cups fire each plant, I only give each plants 2 cups of nutes. That come to less than 25% the recommended amounts.
My afgooey, cali -o kish and blue balls are dynamite. It's just the white widow. Also the WW buds are looking fine just the fan leaves. Very odd and I agree with @Javadog this will not "repair".

No the damage will stay but it won't get much worse if you get the medium back in balance.

Putting less amount of a stronger solution does not equate to less ppm at the roots. It also doesn't wash out the leftovers as effectively with o ppm water. Salts attract salts and it will likely work better to saturate the pots with a mild mixture and wait till it dries out pretty good.

Just my opinion.

Hello, im on my second round of the mainline method and just had one question. My manifolds are developed for 8 tops and im at the point of filling it out with fan leaves and height before flower. My question is, before i initiate flower, should i be removing growth tips that are starting to grow out and look like small mains? I feel like these growth tips are taking away from the point of mainlining. I just wanna make sure before i remove them
