The Marijuana double-edged sword

The main objective to legalizing marijuana should be to maximize revenue. All provincial governments will need the money not only to support health, education and social initiatives but to address the negative social effects from making it readily available on demand.

Fighting the illegal distribution of it by keeping the price of legal marijuana low is an exercise in futility. Illicit sales by its very nature can always be harvested and sold at a lower price than the posted price per gram.

Ottawa can combat this by promoting the slogan “Be safe not sorry! Purchasing on the street, you’ll never know what’s natural or what dangerous ingredients maybe added. “And introduce a confidential whistle blower’s hotline to direct police to make an undercover purchase; the “snitch on the bitch“ receives a $500 bag of weed for his well intentioned inconvenience.

If you take comfort that the age to purchase is higher than lower, rest assured that a 12 year old can take a few flowers from the home grown plants and/or their parent’s stash or buy from the local high school dropout working on his or her first million; and the latter would provide a poor education to our youth to join him. I’m sure this weighs heavily on my Prime Minister Justin who enjoys his second mandate as minister for youth.

If it sounds like we are about to lose the war before this initiative takes effect, I offer these additional common sense solutions:

1. Provincial governments should become the only retail distributors and prepare now to open store front locations and kiosks in hospitals, pharmacies and CLSCs etc. Don’t permit privateers to profit instead.

2. Incorporate a MST Tax (marijuana sales tax) in the price reserved exclusively for the provinces.

3. Establish the lowest uniform price from all Canadian producers not colluding to keep the price high and the highest uniform retail price which must be respected throughout the nation. Prohibit cross border provincial sales. Establish that on line and in store pricing should be the same with no special incentives from time to time.

4. And equally important marijuana and food products made with it must be pre-packaged with government approved tax labels much like cigarettes and alcohol

I guess people can phone in on LP's as well.. LMAO
this one will bite them in their ass. lol same old same old BS but funny to read none the less eh ;)

All patient growers know what the true cost per gram can be ;)
