4:39 am January 31, 2007

Notice 1 about 1/4 “ above top (Pot 2 multiple start hole)

12:00 am February 1, 2007

About 1” added 1 cup (8oz) Water. Soil dry on top semi moist on bottom
After water soil wet on bottom (but no run off) moist in middle semi dry on top

12:53 am February 3, 2007

About 1 and ¼ inches above top. @ round leaves yellowing and shriveling, fan leaves growing

8:35 PM February 5, 2007

Fan Leaves growing no yellowing

12:55 PM February 7, 2007

Still alive, worlds record, soil still wet at bottom only misting 1, 2 times a day.
1 Node at level of first round leaves more stem then fan leaves with 2 new fan leaves sprouting.

6:02 PM February 8, 2007

Gave 3 OZ water it looked a little dry, Meter says moist to dry so I put water on opposite side of pot. Soil sucked it up.

4:00 PM February 9, 2007

Looking that way again (purple stem leaf yellowing), panicked. Transplanted sprout deeper into soil and covered it up to ½ inch below first 2 round leaves. All soil is moist to wet, prayer time.

5:00 PM February 9, 2007

Misted sprout but did not water. Placed plant food stick (6-12-6) in soil, 1/4 strength and double distance from recommended distance and pressed the stick to bottom of soil. Sprout is now 3” into soil, with 3” more of soil below it. Prayer Continued, Namyoho Renge Kyo.

Like I said still alive now, but stunted I think others look much better still asking why. Any one got a clue as to why?

Soil temp thermometer arrived and to my chagrin, I was correct that the soil temp was 75-80 Degrees. I sealed the bottom of the pot and placed it in a bowl of ice for 45 mim 68 deg after woot woot

Well that was kinda rude. Anyways you look to be doing fine.. If you notice any nutrient deficiency throw a little pinch of either coffee or a thimble of pee (to 12oz) to suppliment with a little nutrient boost. i personally use two bottles one that has good plant nutrients and the other just plain pre-boiled water.

Keep in mind if the area you live in is known for bad or hard water this could be damaging to your plants. The chemicals water treatment plants put into water to make it safe for human consumption isnt always the best water to grow with. just boil it.

Above all else remain calm and anything that happens dont be afraid to ask. I may be on my first grow but somehow my little sprouts love me.

Thanks for the added step, um I mean advice... Boiling can be done at any time??????? Or should it be done before or after PH'ing Let me know so far I let it sit out for 24 hours (removes the chlorine) then I PH it down to 6.5 Where do I boil it ?

Well I transplanted my sprout tonight.

Removed it from pot carefully (darn it) the entire root got exposed the soil just fell off. Soil VERY WET probably beginning root rot or at least a factor in stunting growth. Root is 3 times as deep as the top is high.

Placed sprout in MG/Perlite mix allowing for lots more depth (at least 4" below the root bottom) placed in middle of pot to allow pleanty of lateral growth.

Both the MG and the Perlite (also MG) are nutes added so I figre that should be all it needs for at least a few weeks.

Added 12oz RO (8 filter process) water ph'd to 6.5 (up to 5 OZ drained through)

Added time to the light schedule it was off by the time i was ready to place it back in the grow room.

Any thing to add Ill be up for a bit

Soil drying out faster due to addition perlite I believe. (SHE_ HOpefully) She is looking (I could be biased) a little bit better. I think?

i'm a newb too, but i'm just making sure you know starting in nutes (ie. MG soil) is not a good idea. I'm just saying this because you said you thought it would hold it over for now, when it really doesn't need it at all.

Im sorry Yes boil it straight out of the tap let it cool then ph it and adjust. I do agree though. Sprouts need nothing more than light and dirt.. (i use transplant soil for my sprouts) only natural shit ferts.

RO water? I dont get the reference.

Tap water has chlorine and floride in it. BOiling your water leaves you with near distilled purity (if its an issue go get a gallon of distilled water for a buck at the store.
