i think i'm just going to trim them back.. plenty of plant.. shorten them up and leave them with enough room to grow.. my training ribbons are starting to give way as they stretch upwards pulling at the mylar sheet they are attached to.

given the restrictions of the grow its the best option.. pics tomorrow here, and in my other grow linked in my signature.

Well, good luck. I've never delved into trimming before, so I'm not gonna be any help.

i've been gardening for years now.. cannabis is just another flower in my garden, so to speak. people talking about "maximizing yield" and this and that... what it comes down to is, it's a plant, treat it, don't trash or destroy her, just give the best available conditions, and she'll return in kind.

long story short, i'm not worried, haha

let's see a pic Shack...

I would hate for the watts you burned to VEG her to go to waste by chopping it all off... it's just very inefficient...

Let's see what you got...

it was VERY minimal trimming.. just like the top inch of the canopy.. it should pay off in the long run, leaves enough space for lights and will encourage some nugging all over. i have high hopes.. fresh nutrient solution.. AND! air stones.. i guess over time they break down? i pulled them out to clean and they fell apart, salts doing their thing??

pics coming soon waiting on the damn camera to charge!

also i think my A/C is busted.. hot as fuck in here!! thank you texas!! haha

Here they are.. (can't remember their names haha, i'll have to look back for them)
Below is an overall look at the garden, and attached are some shots of the baby flowers just starting to pop up everywhere. Looks pretty healthy overall (better than my other grow did a few days ago ha!)

that is after the minimal haircut i gave her, just took off a few tops before they had a chance to streeeeeeetch like their mama did. should definitely pay off in the long run.

also picked up a 26W 10.0 UV bulb and used it to replace one of the lower wattage bulbs.. we'll see about this UV business after awhile.. below is the pre-bud pr0n.

thanks for the comment DocBrown, glad to have your approval.
still haven't found a spot for the flux capacitor, it is after all what makes weed growth possible! or is it time travel??

now for something completely different!

A/C IS FIXED!! SWEET!! just in time for me to go out of town again lol.
turns out my filter was clogged and froze up the coils, had to run the fan all night to thaw them out.
then this morning it was blasting air, turned the A/C on and it dumped water all over. haha that bitch WAS frozen.
house is nice and cool again.. TAKE THAT TEXAS!! Fuck your heat!!
haha

lol a BTTF reference... nice (it's what makes time travel)

I was just about to tell you about your whole AC thing, same shit happened to mine. Ironically it also was a priority to get it fixed since I knew it would effect my ambient temps AND it also had to do with clogged up BS in the unit. I had the guy just do a full tune up on it so I wont have to worry about it for a couple of years.

things are looking rough, out of town AGAIN for the weekend, and came home to a pitiful sight.. one girl might be dead, res looked well drained when i got to them..

fresh solution, and a light shelf raise later, she's back on track, not sure if the one will pull through.. pics tomorrow.

have you considered cutting back on lights when you go out of town? Say, drop from 3 lights to 1, or whatever....enough to keep lighting active, but it should cut down on heat, water-drinkage, and so forth...

That is most definitely a good idea.

I am really stoned right now and I was like........ "oh yeah!"

yeah that is a VERY good idea.. i hadn't considered that.

along these lines, this setup is MUCH more efficient for this particular strain, at only about 2-3 weeks into flower, it appears about 1-2 weeks ahead of the mother they came from. this harvest should be KILLER if i can maintain this little baby.

Shack,

Quick question for you: I saw those Sure to grow cubes you referenced and they look good for germination. Did you ever try them, and if so what do you think? Im having trouble germinating right now, which is a problem, cause I finally sprung for some AK 48 and Aurora Indica seeds from Nirvana.

Ive tried the paper towel, getting 1 of 3 and now Im getting 1 of 3 just putting them in the AG plug. Theres lots of people saying dont pre germ seeds at alldue to taproot damage.

When using the AG what is your best germ rate? No pre germ, just straight in the AG? And if you go straight in do you set it on top or bury it and if so how deep? Do you leave the lights off til they sprout? Do you have the pump on 24/7? I have a separate timer like you, I can plug in to it for any pump schedule like you did for your clones.

Sorry to ramble on, Im just frustrated to be stuck on such a simple step that Ive never had issues with in the past.

whoa whoa whoa easy buddy.. i'll help you a bit, but you may want to start your own thread for these questions. i only talked about the STG cubes, never used them. never germ'd a seed in the AG (other than the herb kit when i first got it, took about 2 weeks before ALL were germ'd but that wasn't cannabis). i would probably insert the seed a bit for germing in the AG. Don't know about your light question pre-sprout, my air pump was 24/7 (and still is) AG pump ran like 2 or 3 times a day, to keep them moist, but i was cloning.. NOW GO START A THREAD!! haha

well things are rough.. the cab is too small for this strain. if you're following my other grow (the Closet WaterFarm) i'm planning on chopping her in about two weeks. at which time, the AG will be moving under my 125 W CFL hood in hopes of a sweet harvest and better conditions for her to survive!! not much to report other than she has had a rough life. i'm somewhat convinced though that genetics are to blame, obviously some care issues, but both grows are the same strain (AG was cloned) and both Veg'd beautifully and then going to flower ran into all sorts of issues.

looking forward to both grows being over, and having some to smoke, AND for my next grow to start with better genetics! (that grow will be started late september-october.)
