The Shack's AeroGrow

You may have read it elsewhere on others threads. BUT!! I pulled the plug on the AeroGarden. It was growing out of control, and rather than tame it and use up nutrients and power on the lights... you get the idea.

No worries though!! A new thread will be started in about a month when i start my next grow. Dialing everything in still as far as game plan. For now...

Soil (time release fertilizer MG potting) mixed with Perlite (i'm following Garden Knowm grow book Buds For Less)

2 plants (still deciding on strains) for sure Lemon Skunk and maybe White Widow (i have some seeds I'll post later for input on which to go with)

That's about it, I'll be using this cabinet for the grow. High hopes!!

I'll be sure to let everyone know when the grow starts.

In the meantime, my other grow (Closet grow linked in signature) is still going, and will be harvested in about a week!! Check it for sure!!

What did you end up doing with your babies that lived in your AG?

FYI I had my first harvest this last week as well. A little early,as one girl got bad root rot 6 weeks in to flower and it was too late to regrow and 90% of the leaves had yellowed or died. Still I think I'll get about 1/2 oz, better than nothing... at least she made it this far to give me a little fruit.

And for the germination issue I was having...I figured it out. I have the AC cranked up, and it was getting in to the low 60's at night. I tried germinating in my garage, as its steady at 82 - 89. Wouldnt you know it, 100% germination within 48 hours on two different tests now. And that guy Ludacris was right...he's always posting to germinate directly in substrate. I did an experiment with paper towel method, cup of water and directly in soil. Now I only did 6 in each method but the ones germed in 1 inch of Ocean's Forest Soil, sprouted a taproot easily twice as long and twice as fast as the paper towel or the cup of water. Although it is worth noting again that in the garage I did get 100% germ rate. This makes sense as most of these germination kits for sale have a heating pad.

I'm planning to SCRoG. Building a shelf with the screen and mounting it in the cabinet, so i can have a bit of control over the height.

what is this about headroom for soil??

because man you gotta put a pot in there with soil in it that takes room unless you growing in the beer pong cups.you need "headroom" for the plant to grow..what are the demensions on that cab?

Alright!! Brought the seedling home (featured in "The Shacks O.D. Baby")

She is now nestled in the cab in her little plastic cup.

Going to let her grow and get some roots and move her to permanent pot soon.
The pot is about 3 times the size and fits perfectly in the cabinet, and has enough head room for a good grow.

Expect a dedicated thread to follow the soil cabinet grow by or sometime this weekend.

12 x 24 x 31.5" sorry for the delay. i'm using an autoflower. Quicksilver Auto Fem from G13 Labs. definitely going to LST. just plan on bending the bitch over, grow it out tall and bend it once and through pruning just turn bud sites on the main stem into mini colas. thats the strategy at least.

i'll get a new thread up to follow this grow by tomorrow night probably.

one last question though.. to anybody viewing. Autos.. i've heard 24/0 and 20/4 and 18/6 and this and that... i'm going to 24/0 for the time being. specifically for G13 Quicksilver Auto if anybody knows anything.
