shrub left us ranked lower than china, obama restored us to the most respected nation on earth.

retrumplicans have reversed that goodwill in record time.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-image-survey-idUSKBN19I00F

favorable views of the united states under obama:

mexico: 66%
canada: 65%
germany: 57%

favorable views of the united states under trump:

mexico: 30%
canada: 43%
germany: 35%

and here is one of the most damning things ever. people were asked if they had confidence in both obama and trump to do the right thing regarding world affairs.

obama ranked 64%
trump ranks 22%

that is lower than putin (27%) and xi (28%). people have less confidence in trump than they do in murderous dictators.

only 7% of people in spain have any confidence in trump.

the entire world is laughing at us.

thanks, trump.

America is no longer respected.

Feared, certainly.

Not respected- and certainly not beloved like we were after WWII.

What has become of us? What the fuck are we so afraid of that we've built the most outlandishly excessive military machine in history to 'defend' ourselves with? In a time of relative peace, no less?

Imagine how well we'd be thought of if we used even half of our military budget to help other countries grow and develop, like we did in Europe and with Germany, a former enemy and in Asia and with Japan, another former enemy?

Are we more secure? Safer? More likely to succeed and leaf the world forward?

What has all that military power bought us?

those military bases were there under obama too. i don't think that's the reason why we've become one of the least respected nations on earth in the last 5 months.

i'm racking my brain to come up with a theory though.

Too many lies is what you're looking for. Over time that added up as internet bcame more mainstream and 'open'. The liers were exposed, the lies were exposed.

I'm talking about the trend of the past 40 years, not just the last President's tenure.

Don't forget that Mr Obama did not ratchet America's military interventionism down but rather he expanded the use of drone strikes and cover operations to unprecedented levels. He was hardly a pacifist President, not at all a departure from the Conservative president who preceded him.

The Pentagon is not an instrument of diplomacy, except 'by other means'.

demonstrably untrue and naive.

look at the deaths on both sides, american and other (whether iraqi or afghani or yemeni or syrian), and there is a clear difference. just vast.

Fewer deaths but more theaters. Perception matters.

i don't think the literal millions of people who died gave the slightest shit about perception.
No but their wives, sons, relatives, neighbors and countrymen certainly did.

Your spreadsheet is irrelevant against the experience of such strikes. We rained death without warning on so many places, many far from anything that might be described as a war zone.

We still do.

i don't think the literal millions more family members of those who died because of bush's reckless strategy rather than obama's limited and targeted strategy gave a shit about perception either.

we strike without warning on specific isolated targets, not populated areas. should we drop leaflets on bin laden's compund before we go in, just in case there are a few relatives in his compound among other members who are the specific target?

you know a president like obama took every precaution practically available in these decisions, versus the retarded bluster of bush or someone like trump. see his botched yemen raid where dozens of small children and women were mowed down.

i'm not sure how you find any amount of equivalence among the two.

I think you assume you know a lot more than you actually do about how they are used.

i am only speaking about documented body totals. deaths from our side and civilian deaths on their side. bush racked up about a million civilians and 5000+ americans, plus plenty more retards like cool2bum who claim PTSD without ever seeing battle.

obama has very few deaths on his hands comparatively, and never got us into such a quagmire like bush did. or like trump will.

so i don't see why you would try to find any equivalence among the two sides.

seems turncoat to me to try to call them the same. and naive too.

Your Leader Is all those and more...We dont trust America with a person like that at the wheel. We know the American people fall for the national/patriot us vs them every time. Which is worrying, especially when our old friend and ally has historically started wars by using lies...
Allot of the world is down right scared. I saw a poll a little while ago. The people of the world rated America as the number one threat to world peace.
http://brilliantmaps.com/threat-to-peace/

According to the survey results:

The US was the overwhelming choice (24% of respondents) for the country that represents the greatest threat to peace in the world today. This was followed by Pakistan (8%), China (6%), North Korea, Israel and Iran (5%). Respondents in Russia (54%), China (49%) and Bosnia (49%) were the most fearful of the US as a threat.
