but don't worry, trump will abolish the alternative minimum tax. it won't help you at all, but it is the only thing keeping his tax rate above 4%.

Taxpayers with lots of itemized deductions must figure their tax returns twice and pay whichever is higher: the AMT or their regular tax. The AMT denies deductions for things such as dependents and payments for real estate and state taxes.
the AMT hits people like my wife, whose family owns tons of real estate in multiple states, and thus pays a ton of state taxes and real estate taxes. she would probably benefit a ton if it were abolished. but it would not help blue collar workers like myself, or non-taxpaying welfare mooches like you.
if you were to ever actually get a fucking job, you'd understand things like this. welfare mooch.
